Yoon Kye-sang tackles rugby for SBS’s Try – We Become Miracles
by tccolb
Rugby season is coming soon to SBS on the new sports comedy Try – We Become Miracles, kicking off promos with the first script reading stills and appointing Yoon Kye-sang (The Frog) to lead our underdog team.
In the role of Joo Ga-ram (Yoon Kye-sang), our hero was once a star rugby player until his athlete days were ruined by a sudden doping scandal. Fast forward a few years to present day in our story, when Ga-ram gets his chance to return to the field, but this time as the new sports director at his alma mater: Hanyang Sports High School. The challenge of course is that their rugby team has been ranking in last place and Ga-ram’s near impossible goal is to help them win at the next nationals.
At Hanyang, Ga-ram will also encounter coach Bae Yi-ji – played by Im Se-mi (My Dearest Nemesis) – who manages training for the school’s shooting athletes. However, the troubling factor is that Yi-ji’s anger-inducing ex-boyfriend is none other than Ga-ram.
Kim Yo-han (School 2021) takes on the part of Yoon Sung-joon, a high school senior at Hanyang and the captain of their struggling rugby team. But despite having a big love for the sport, Sung-joon feels distressed by their team’s poor performance and is under a lot of pressure as the team’s captain.
Putting together a large supporting cast to fill out the drama world with staff, students, and other characters, the long lineup includes Gil Hae-yeon (The Haunted Palace), Kim Min-sang (Buried Hearts), and Jang Hyuk-jin (Brewing Love), as well as Jung Soon-won (Resident Playbook), Song Young-kyu (Love Scout), and Park Jung-yeon (The Judge From Hell).
We’ll also being seeing Kim Yi-joon (Resident Playbook), Lee Soo-chan (Twinkling Watermelon), and Yoon Jae-chan (Love Your Enemy), in addition to Jo Han-kyul (The Haunted Palace), Bae Myung-jin (Shark – The Storm), and Sung Ji-young (Resident Playbook) among other talents.
Helmed by PD Jang Young-seok (Taxi Driver 2) with scripts by SBS’s writing contest winner Im Jin-ah, Try – We Become Miracles will be broadcasting on weekends following Our Movie on SBS, premiering next month on July 25.

I have had my eye on SBS’s TRY: WE BECOME MIRACLES for a long time. I am hoping for another kdrama sports gem like ENA’s LIKE FLOWERS IN SAND (2023/24) (Netflix). Now I have to hope MIRACLES becomes available on a legal US stream.

Indeed! He is one of my favorite actors and group member of G.O.D. Good to see him again since I couldn't watch his last drama.

The Frig? I knew rugby from the DB review that I can't stomach it. This one is different though.

It is great to see sooo many familiar and smiling faces. This does seem like a feel good drama. It is a bonus that it is sports based.

I love that Im Semi keeps getting cast as the romantic female lead. She’s likable and great in everything I’ve seen her in, but she’s not a conventional beauty, so I’m always but happily surprised when she’s the love interest.
Also, ooh, is that the cute, tall anesthesiologist from Resident Playbook?
