Yoon Kye-sang makes a comeback in Try – We Become Miracles

SBS has dropped the first teaser for upcoming sports comedy Try – We Become Miracles starring Yoon Kye-sang (The Frog) as the coach for an underdog rugby team. He’s tasked with the impossible goal of winning nationals next year, but will this newbie coach be able to get his life back together in time to help his team win?

In the sport of rugby, a point is called a try, representing the countless attempts and the will to never give up. As the teaser opens to a montage of Joo Ga-ram’s (Yoon Kye-sang) glory days as a player, it suddenly rewinds as someone mentions his doping scandal and subsequent expulsion from the association. He tries to laugh it off, but his face falls as the text on screen emphasizes that he is no longer a rugby star but a coach.

Ga-ram notifies his team that their goal is winning nationals, but they all look up at him with a blank expression. Does he really expect to take the trophy with this group of ill-mannered, outnumbered, unskilled animals? While everyone else might think it’s impossible, Ga-ram disagrees.

Despite team captain Kim Yo-han (School 2021) refusing to shake their opponent’s hand and then getting pummeled on the field, Ga-ram does not lose hope even if the others see their loss as nothing more than another failure. He tells his students that if they charge forward, a road will eventually appear, and for this team of losers, the only thing they have now is passion.

Refusing to give up, the players start to change and follow their coach’s advice. Whether it be laughter or the win, they will go after it until the very end and vow to become a miracle. Of course, they’re still high school boys, so overly embarrassing cheers are forbidden.

Directed by PD Jang Young-seok (Taxi Driver 2) with scripts by SBS’s writing contest winner Im Jin-ah, Try – We Become Miracles is slated for twelve episodes and opens its first match July 25 in the Friday-Saturday slot.
