Summer beckons Gong Seung-yeon and Kim Jae-young on My Lovely Journey
by tccolb
Becoming our comforting avatar for those of us who aren’t or cannot be vacation-bound, Channel A has put Gong Seung-yeon (Karma) on My Lovely Journey (previously I’ll Take the Trip for You) in the drama’s first teaser, to vicariously walk us through her sunny travels with Kim Jae-young (The Judge From Hell).
Adapted from the bestseller Japanese novel written by Harada Maha, the heroine of this heartwarming and slice-of-life tale is Kang Yeo-reum (Gong Seung-yeon). As a former K-pop idol who now works as a travel reporter, Yeo-reum is soon teamed up with aspiring filmmaker Lee Yeon-seok (Kim Jae-young) to help promote Summer, a specialized travel agency that provides a substitute travel service.
Unlike typical travel agencies, Summer’s customers are people who are not able to travel and the company strives to become their clients’ eyes and ears by going on trips in their stead, essentially creating personalized travel logs to vividly relay the experience. In the scenic sequence, we thus follow our Yeo-reum and Yeon-seok from South Korea’s western coast in Buyeo to the eastern coast in Pohang, before sailing overseas on a life-changing trip to Japan. And we of course can also spy the hints of love sparking between our leads.
Also starring Yoo Joon-sang (The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch) as a talent management CEO to Yeo-reum, the cast lineup includes Hong Soo-hyun (Buried Hearts), Yoo Ji-yeon (Taxi Driver 2), Dong Hyun-bae (Queen Woo), and Kang Dong-ho (a.k.a. NU’EST’s Baekho) among others.
Directed by PD Kang Sol (Show Window: The Queen’s House) with scripts by Jung Hwe-hyun (Radiant Office), My Lovely Journey will be setting out in August, broadcasting in Channel A’s weekend slot.

Hopefully it isn't like Summer strike, where the trailers implied a nice breezy drama, but it devolved into anything but that.

Yes it sounds like a gentle stroll in a great location AKA One day off and then when we settle in to watch it half way through episode one it turns into Stalkers paradise🤣
