Premiere Watch: Squid Game 3

Time slot: Friday (single drop)
Broadcaster: Netflix
Genre: Action, suspense, thriller
Episode count: 6

Reasons to watch: If you want to know how much of the Squid Game franchise I watched, it’s about 45 minutes or whatever the length of Episode 1 was so many moons ago. Since that time the franchise has gone viral, changed Netflix, changed K-dramas, possibly changed streaming dramas, and also buoyed up a lot of our favorite Korean actors. Now, almost four years later, the final season is about to drop. Continuing where the previous season cut left off, Season 3 has “final battle” vibes, with Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-heon in a veritable poster face-off. While I’m firmly in camp Good Triumphs Over Evil, this is a Netflix production, so we’ll have to wait to see where the series ends, and what message it leaves lingering behind.

TL;DR: Let the (final) games begin.

I just took note that this Kdrama got 6 Emmys including actor Lee Jung-jae and even actress Lee Yoo-mi got Emmy Award. Especially Hwang Dong-hyuk got the outstanding directing Emmy award.
