- New character posters have dropped for Netflix’s Squid Game 3, setting up the playrooms for a third and final survival battle. Starring Lee Jung-jae (The Acolyte) and Lee Byung-heon (Our Blues), as well as Kang Haneul (Tastefully Yours), Im Shi-wan (Boyhood), Park Sung-hoon (Queen of Tears), and Yang Dong-geun (Moving) among other talents in the large ensemble cast, the new season will be coming to our screens on June 27 in two more weeks. - Hostilities are breaking out again on Bitch x Rich as well, bringing back Season 1’s Lee Eun-saem (Cheer Up) and Red Velvet’s Yeri in the second season’s first poster. Newly joined by Minkyu (Missing Crown Prince) in the student lineup for a new school semester and a new murder case, the mystery-thriller will be launching in July,dld and will be streaming internationally on Viki as well as other platforms. - It’s been 11 years since the hit period film Ode to My Father released in 2014 and a sequel is reportedly in the works, courting Lee Sung-min (Nine Puzzles) and Kang Haneul (Tastefully Yours) to play leading roles as father and son. With the original’s filmmaker Yoon Je-kyun (Hero) remaining at the helm, production is expecting to start filming in October and is aiming to release sometime in 2026. [Ilgan Sports, News1]
- TVING’s upcoming I Am a Running Mate has confirmed that Kim Young-dae (No Gain No Love) and Joo Hyun-young (The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract) will be making special guest appearances, though the character details have not yet been disclosed. Starring Yoon Hyun-soo (ONE High School Heroes), Lee Jung-shik (Hyper Knife) and Choi Woo-sung (Chief Detective 1958), the youth series is set to launch their student elections on June 19. [10 Asia]
- More stills have come out on SBS for Our Movie, gearing up for the tears to come with Namgoong Min (My Dearest) and Jeon Yeo-bin (A Time Called You) as our melodrama leads. Premiering this week on June 13, the series also stars Seo Hyun-woo (The Fiery Priest 2) and Lee Seol (Between Him and Her), with directing by PD Lee Jung-heum (Inspector Koo) alongside co-writing by Han Ga-eun and Kang Kyung-min. Ode to my father was a great film covering significant historical events, I wonder what they will include in the sequel.
Our movie finally drops this weekend I am bracing myself for this one. After Tangerines and Way back love I feel I am well prepared.
