Lee Jun-hyuk is cast in Even Lottery Winners Go to Work

Oh Dae-hwan, Lee Jun-hyuk, Seo Hyun-woo

Millions of people play the lottery every year in hopes of turning their lives around, but what if hitting the jackpot wasn’t as life-changing as one hoped? tvN’s upcoming office drama Even Lottery Winners Go to Work (roughly translated) explores that very conundrum as an ordinary office worker wakes up one morning a millionaire yet goes about his day like any other.

Lee Jun-hyuk (Mercy for None) stars as your typical office worker Gong Eun-Tae. He devoted his life to remain average — nothing too grand or too poor — and now he leads sales team 5 at Hongseong International. However, he realizes that at this rate, all that is left for him in life is boredom, and Eun-tae hits a slump. In that moment, he wins the lottery, yet 1.3 billion won (approximately 1 million dollars) is a tad short of life-altering. As Eun-tae continues going to work, having his winnings as insurance slowly influences his attitude towards life, and his day to day no longer feels the same.

Joining our lucky office worker is Seo Hyun-woo (Our Movie) as the disillusioned assistant manager Yang Jun-ho. His twenties were the highlight of his career as he climbed the corporate ladder, but then the promotions stopped coming as quickly until, one day, his junior Eun-tae passed him up for the position of team leader. Jun-ho turns into a troublesome employee as a result, but slowly, he learns to face reality and be supportive.

Last but not least, Oh Dae-hwan (New Recruit 3) plays sales team 4 leader Jung Sun-hyuk. He is known around the office as a pushover and lives an upright life to the point of feeling old-fashioned. As he continues being passed over for promotions, he realizes that who you know is more important than what you know and decides to become an opportunist.

Directed and written by filmmaker Yoon Young-bin (Tomb of the River), the webnovel adaptation Even Lottery Winners Go to Work is expected to broadcast on tvN sometime next year.

next year?! I was ready to watch this drama like right now! I want to meet this Eun Tae that says 1 million dollars isn't life altering! He can give that money to me rofl Yet I would def do what he did... going about my life like nothing happened... not needing to worry about money must be def liberating. I'm a bit bummed it's not a romcom for Lee Jun hyuk but I can cope until his next on screen romance with a little bromance

I know the state of most economies are dire, but surely a million dollars would change things up a bit. If LJH doesn't mind, maybe I could... borrow his winnings... only to test his theory, of course. It's for research purposes!

I'm excited for this one! Great cast. I might even read the web novel to see what the source material is like.
At work we sometimes talk about what we would do if we won the lottery. LOL!
