Drama viewership ratings for the week of May 26-Jun. 1, 2025

Oh My Ghost Clients opened office with decent numbers, though it did falter on day two, while Good Boy made an even stronger swinging start. Still, For Eagle Brothers and, in particular, Our Unwritten Seoul managed to push higher. On weekdays, Spring of Youth is starting to inch up and Tastefully Yours did better than last week, though Second Shot at Love is starting to slip.

I hoped Second shot at love would keep climbing but maybe everyone is switching off from the stalker/violence troupes.

Agreed that the stalker is an unnecessary and disappointing inclusion, but I suspect the real reason this isn't getting more views in SK is that it's putting a national crisis front and center in a way that people may find uncomfortably relatable.

Still pretty nice numbers in the M-T slot which definitely isn't a sure thing these days. Thrilled Haunted Palace continues to do well and glad for a strong start for Good Boy!

I like "Second Shot" but I don't think the leads have particularly sparky or interesting chemistry so I can see why some wouldn't be in a rush to watch new episodes.

I'm in wait-and-see mode about "Ghost Clients" as the premise didn't grab me and although I like the actors fine, none of them make me want to watch something just because they're in it.

But I absolutely loved both "Good Boy" and "Unwritten Seoul." These are such satisfying shows. "GB" took a bit to get going because ep.1 is extremely set-up heavy, but the last 10 minutes make it all worth it. And truly, PBG should bottle his smile; other than my son, he might be the only person whose smile immediately fills me with joy.

"US" is the kind of show that you can trust will deliver payoff throughout, which makes watching such a pleasure.

My kdrama highlight of the week was Park Bo-gum’s JTBC drama GOOD BOY (Amazon Prime Video). Towards the end of the long (90 minute) episode one the editing is a tour de force display of the athleticism of the 5 athletes now police officers as they individually and simultaneously fight bad guys but Park Bo-gum’s fight taking on a gang of thugs was the best kdrama fight sequence I have seen since Jung Hae-in’s fights in D.P. (2021) and Woo Do-hwan’s fights in BLOODHOUNDS (2023). Park Bo-gum’s physicality in GB is definitely on par with JHI and WDH. I am looking forward to the upcoming episodes.
Also, perennial baddie Heo Sung-tae was a hoot as a good guy.

FOR EAGLE BROTHERS is holding its ground but we may see a little more makjang in a couple of the story lines in the final quarter of the show.
