Would You Rather #59
by DaebakGrits
In dramaland, leading ladies often find themselves torn between the love of two equally attractive men — a choice none of us would want to make! But what if you did have to pick between the frustrating lawyer and the adorkable police officer? In this feature, we ask you to make the difficult decisions — and we aren’t limiting our options to dreamy oppas.
Vote via the poll and feel free to use the comments to explain exactly how you were able to choose! So, Beanies:
WOULD YOU RATHER #58 RESULTS
It’s date night, and when tasked with picking your preferred K-drama themed locations for a romantic evening, an overwhelming majority of Beanies opted to have ramyeon by the Han River. Unlike the jimjilbang, which @gikata and @jillian deemed too “humid,” the Han River is an open air space with nice parks for picnics (@welh640) where you can admire the river while eating ramyeon. Plus, if you’re someone who is more modest, you don’t have to be put through the awkwardness of a public scrub down before changing into borrowed “scrubs-with-shorts sauna outfit” (@bbstl).
However, for the few who opted for a jimjilbang, those borrowed clothes are a large part of the sauna’s appeal. They’re an iconic part of Korean culture and K-drama lore, so if you’re someone who is striving to live that #kdramalifestyle and tick off some K-drama icons off your “nom bucket list,” like @darkcc, then a date a jimjilbang, is a must stop destination to grab some baked Korean eggs and wrap your hair up in a towel Princess Leia-style. Plus, as @asianromance and @sonai pointed out, there are no bugs.

The choice of being super popular or a lovelorn serial killer?
The choice is obvious: #1, being popular on campus.

Wow! You actually gave as an option if someone would want to be "cursed to kill or injure EVERY MAN"? The misandry promoted by this site has reached its peak! Is this like a dream you all have? Seriously, in your bubble you have those kind of discussions? As in, hey, it would be totally acceptable for someone to chose to be cursed and kill all man and let's find out who those people are? What is wrong with you?

The question was based on the plot of the drama The Witch. I don't know who "you all" is meant to be here. You are on this site and you are currently participating in the discussion, so I guess you too are in this bubble? For once, you share the dominant opinion--you would prefer to be the popular main character in Crushology than the despairing wet blanket of The Witch. I only watched the first part of The Witch and none of Crushology. I would rather go to a sauna! I guess that's last week's question though.

I am not new, I do know what this game is about, I participated in one or two.
No, I certainly am not in that bubble, I do not hate men, but mainly the "you all" I was referring to the editorial staff who allowed this to "print". And no, I don't find it funny or interesting. To put it in dramadictally's word of choice: I found it grotesque. They could have gone with maybe a character like the one from Jelousy Incarnate as in having the FL run after the ML or maybe having none like the one in the Pump Up one even if that meant to be a little overweight. That would have been a better contrast and would have sparked better conversations. But the intention here was to incite extremist views against a part of population. That's some professional and personal joy our esteem freelancers get from writing here, LOL.
I don't think this type of question, even merits an answer so I do not understand why you would think that at my age I would entertain having a harem when I didn't even do that in my youth, I am a one or none type of girl.

If you're in the discussion, agreeing with the majority, responding to lots of comments, you're part of the scene. Are you in the bubble? Since I'm not sure what you mean by that, I don't know. But you're part of this community, even when you're being kind of rude about it.
I wouldn't have even responded to this one because I didn't finish The Witch and the little I saw of Crushology tripped my aversion to watching people being embarrassed.
About this question: I thought the writer was making an extreme argument about the original show. After all, most of the boys who fell for the FL didn't actually die, they just had bad accidents.
Indeed, her character seemed like a good candidate for the 4B movement.

I have yet to meet a misandrist Beanie! Even the few men who comment here seem to be total green flags (at least, online). And like @toomuchtv said, their prompts are always based on recently aired dramas, not something they come up with on their own.
Also, talking of The Witch, I can very well imagine a traumatised person wanting to opt for the second prompt! Yes, the the theme is problematic, and if the roles had been reversed, the man would probably be arrested as a serial killer. But this *is* a drama, and much like green flags guys, arguably, red flag women should also be allowed.

I might understand traumatized victims and their families, but every man is a bit of extreme, don't you think? I mean, this site just canceled a show because it was "fat shaming" and not be in line with the new social norms but promoting killing every man is allowed? I do not have a problem with the drama, if I did I would have said so. That is what dramas do. I have a problem with the idea being given as a funny option, on the same level as having all kinds of boys falling for you. Just imagine how you would feel if you read a car magazine, for example" and it has han article asking its readers: would you rather be chaebol that girls fall for you everywhere or be a cursed serial rapist that rapes and kills every woman? I am sure you would not have called them misogynists, right? I am sure you would have not call them that, like you haven't read here man being called misogynists for far less or me being called one, just like you say that you have not seen a misandrist beanie also.

...This doesn't seem like a difficult question. Obviously being everyone's crush on campus would be complicated and potentially super awkward, but it still seems much better than having people mysteriously die around you nonstop.
It's not that I can't see the utility of the other option in a very war-time, assassination-type way, but I still think I'd want to lead a different part of the resistance if possible. And think of how many tragic situations you'd be in before you figured out how it works!

Yeah nope, both options are terrible - first one for me, largely asocial introvert, and second one for innocent people around. Pass.

Ok this is a hard call BUT if you killed off the "not right for you" ones and found your soulmate at least you would know for sure that he/she is the right one for you. I know, grasping at straws now. Introverts would not be able to be everyone's crush you know sooooooooooooo

I don't like to be the focus of attention.
And the other choice is a way to punish or eliminate men? For once, I have no hesitation.
Ah.
I'm in the small minority.
Oups.
Oh, I remember now that I am not interested at all by dating... and that is also largely a minority view.

However many the choices and attention, my sights are set on one and one only. Once determined, any crushes or attention prior or after are hazy outlines I take no cognizance of. So I have no issues with my option A.

It's nice to see there were folks who picked option 2 so I'm not alone.
My reason being I absolutely hate love polygons

I accidentally pressed the send button. I hate love polygons and I wouldn't be the center of attention or the object of a bunch of people's desire/affection.
In a dark turn, some guys don't take no for an answer so in that instance, the curse would be useful. From what I remember of the weecap, tragedy struck when the guys approached her, not when they liked her from a far. If they keep their distance, they would be fine.
