- SBS is working on a new supernatural thriller called Awakening, setting our spooky story at a high school haunted by ghosts. The series is in the early stages and is currently in talks with Lee Jun-hyuk (Love Scout) to become said school’s teacher as well as the resident exorcist. In the meantime, busy bee Lee has several projects already lined up and will be back on our screens soon with Netflix’s Mercy for None and The Art of Sarah, in addition to tvN’s Even Lottery Winners Go to Work. - Na In-woo (Motel California) is turning chaebol for the new romance Hatsukoi DOGs, in a collaboration project between Korean production company Studio Dragon and Japanese broadcaster TBS. Starring Kiyohara Kaya (My Diary) and Narita Ryo (Kujaku no Dance, Dare ga Mita), the series has been slated to air in July. Production is being led by writer Kaneko Arisa (9 Border) and a team of PDs, including Okamoto Shingo (Eye Love You) and Noh Young-sup (My Lovely Liar) among others. [MBC]
- New posters have dropped on MBC, placing Jung Kyung-ho (Crash Course in Romance) at the center of
unwantedattention from his Oh My Ghost Clients. Thankfully, he has Seol In-ah (Twinkling Watermelon) and Cha Hak-yeon (Castaway Diva) by his side, and the trio will be opening their office to assist the underworld with labor legal matters when the dramedy premieres on May 30 later this month. [MBC] - MBC came out with a new poster for the short sports-comedy Director Maeng’s Internet Troll as well, where basketball director Park Sung-woong (Dongjae the Good or the Bastard) struggles against his anti-fan Park Su-oh‘s (The Witch) keyboard attacks. But an unlikely partnership will spark their journey to be enemies-no-more and this 2-episode tale will be broadcasting on May 23-24, following Crushology 101 in the weekend slot. [MBC]
- On Disney+, the plot thickens for Nine Puzzles in the latest poster and teaser, making detective Sohn Seok-gu (Heavenly Ever After) question if he can trust criminal profiler Kim Da-mi (Our Beloved Summer). Assembling a talented ensemble in the cast, the crime-mystery has filmmaker Yoon Jong-bin (Narco-Saints) at the helm and will be unfolding its story over 11 episodes, starting on May 21. [MBC]
- SBS is also gearing up for the upcoming Our Movie, showcasing leads Namgoong Min (My Dearest), Jeon Yeo-bin (A Time Called You), Seo Hyun-woo (The Fiery Priest 2), and Lee Seol (Between Him and Her) in the first script reading stills. Directed by PD Lee Jung-heum (Inspector Koo) with scripts co-written by Han Ga-eun and Kang Kyung-min, the melodrama will be broadcasting on weekends, following The Haunted Palace in June. [SBS]

I like the sound of Hatsukoi DOGs the Japanese/Korean collabs seem to be increasing with more Japanese actors in Korean dramas like The art of negotiation and What comes after love and vice versa in Eye love you.

I'm so most excited for Our Movie! I want a good romance even if it's a melodrama.
I like these collaborations between Japan and Korea! (even if I'm not specially interested by this drama).

It is a busy May! Trying to figure out how to have time to start Tastefully Yours and then binge Dear Hongrang and then still have time for the hilarious episode schedule of Nine Puzzles (which keeps looking better and better). 😵💫
Awakening sounds fun and I’m looking forward to Our Movie too!

Kiyohara Kaya is one of the most talented and hard-working young actresses of our time. I also like Na In-woo and Ryo. But the writing and PDs don't have a good record, Lovely Liar aside, nor does the premise sound appealing to me.
I will give the first few eps a try, just for Kaya.

Loving The Haunted Palace, so it makes me happy to know that the drama that will air after that has NGM in it! I believe in this man and his ability to either choose the right projects or make all the projects work. Looking forward to Our Movie!
