Would You Rather #58

In dramaland, leading ladies often find themselves torn between the love of two equally attractive men — a choice none of us would want to make! But what if you did have to pick between the frustrating lawyer and the adorkable police officer? In this feature, we ask you to make the difficult decisions — and we aren’t limiting our options to dreamy oppas.

Vote via the poll and feel free to use the comments to explain exactly how you were able to choose! So, Beanies:

WOULD YOU RATHER #57 RESULTS

Well, I think it’s safe to say our last poll had a clear winner. A whopping 84% of voters decided that they’d rather infiltrate a high school in disguise than experience the crushing disappointment of finding out that their online sweetheart lied about their age. Which, I mean, if we all assumed we were our current ages in this hypothetical scenario, the result is kind of obvious (I hope). But for the sake of this poll, I was definitely suggesting the situation/ages mimicked that of the associated K-drama. (No need to call the FBI, @gikata!)

For those of you who understood that this was not an episode of To Catch a Predator and still chose the option of having a surprise high school sweetheart, I’m assuming most did so because, as @ceciliedk and their 18-year-old consultant deduced, it would would be relatively easy to reject the teenager and move on. You know, assuming you aren’t like @kimjojoah, who gets super “dreamy” when in crush-mode.

Going undercover, however, would require a lot of long-term effort, and even those who picked it as the lesser of two evils were not terribly enthused by the prospect of “suffering in math class and trying out the slang these days” (@moomoomoondog). However, if an implied consequence of going undercover as a high school kid is that I look young enough to pass as a teenager, then maybe that’s reason enough to put up with adolescents.

jjimjilbang, no hesitation. Where else am I going to get the baked Korean eggs? Where else am I allowed to Princess Leia-tify my towel and put it on my head?
We may be on a date, dear sweet-faced Korean actor darling, but I am also on a mission, and that mission is ticking stuff off my bucket nom list. Now, pass me that glass of sikhye and please order a bowl of patbingsu.

Also, I like the idea that this is the most relaxed dating spot. I don't need to do my makeup (which is great because I still don't have any makeup utensils and even less skills) or pick a fancy dress. It is a win.

As far as I'm as oblivious as What's Wrong With Secretary Kim's Kim Bi-so, I have no issues having a ramyeon date by the Han River.

Ugh, I can't stand saunas by default, my body hates hot+humid combination - it's more than enough that I live in a climate where summers are pretty much that. So river ramyeon date it is - I have no issues with what this dish traditionally implies, good luck scandalizing someone else with the idea^^ Kinda rude of you to ask that and NOT provide the guy worthy of "ramyeon" as a bonus...

There are many nice parks along the Han River.
It would be a picnic to have a ramyeon date by the Han River.

Date by the nice flowing river, please! No cramming myself into that weird scrubs-with-shorts sauna outfit! 😧

date at the jjimjilbang!

I like eating outdoors, but hate dealing with the bugs. I flinch hard when one approaches me. Guessing there will be more bugs by the river. And it's harder to run away with ramyun. And if there is no table, there is the additional danger of spillage.

At the jjimjilbang, we get to wear a loose t and shorts and eat those hard-broiled eggs. I like to imagine that said-date would be like those kdrama heroes who seem to dress well with perfectly-coiffed hair while out and about, so it'll be cute to see him look casual.

*shakes hands and heads with you about the potential bug situation* That was definitely the first thing that popped to my mind, too. 😂😵‍💫😉

Also, even I cannot handle sauna humidity & heat well, just lounging in the rest area and eating all the things looks fun. (You can read, play arcade games, admire Gu Won‘s pristine white socks, sit in a massage chair etc.)
Oh, plus the fun head towels. Win-win!

No jimjilbang for me!
It's why I hate going to a spa even... I always feel like I have to polish myself even *before* going, you know, the whole mani pedi wax shebang, so as to not be subject to the judging eyes of my masseuse of how generally ungroomed I am! More stressful than it's worth.

Both.

I would like to have a jjimjilbang date with my girl-friends, we would enjoy the hot baths, maybe give each other a scrub, take a break with some boiled eggs at the resting room... and talk a lot of course. 😊

With my husband, I would prefer a walking date along the Han river, autumn with the yellow grass around could be nice, with a cup of ramyun to warm us up. 🍜

Han river it is for me! It's a whole new cultural experience with ajummas offering complete picnic sets and food to bring to wherever you decide to plop down and have your date. I went there (alone, alas), and got very curious as to how they'd actually find me if I did order anything.

Also, I have had a date at a jjimjilbang. It's as fun as one can imagine -- trying all the differently-themed sauna rooms and lounging around in matching outfits (matching with everybody, that is!).

Ramyeon date by the Han River sounds like a chill time. Open air and hopefully a great date to spend the time with.
Not much a fan of the jjimjillbang, since it can mean being with other people in such a small space plus the humid temp. No thanks.
