Wrong schedule for Potato Lab. The last two episodes were even lower than When The Stars Gossip's final episodes.

In fairness, the Potato Lab did not have a SPACE BABY!!!

It does not...but another romcom isn't sticking, right after a failed romcom.

Is Buried Hearts good?

Those numbers are crazy maybe i should give it a watch.

Completely unrelated.... but, yay!!! Jang Na-ra on her much deservered Baeksang nomination (her first ever Best Actress nomimation)

Watch if you are okay with makjang and thriller together

It started out as the classic tropey Chaebol revenge story which was fun, but i dropped it becuase the story stopped making sense and the characters kept saying and doing stupid nonsensical things just to keep the drama going.

Also, can we stop making amnesia a plot line? so annoying. Park Hyung Shik looks really good in it though, and his acting is really solid.

I personally love it. It’s an acting party especially the three main cast. Can’t wait for the final week. I find that it’s not well liked here so I suggest you just give it a try.

Thanks for this question! I am a long time PHS fan and was so excited about this drama's release, but the comments have not been very encouraging. Since I am a binge watcher I have been waiting to watch, which I will do at some point, if only for him.

It is actually a lot of fun and worth watching! As long as you keep your mind within the range of what the drama is (no...it is not a realistic view of the world) it can be very enjoyable. Just lean into the twists and turns and enjoy the eye candy everywhere!

Makjang means over-the-top and if you do your homework on the director and scriptwriter is, you will know more or less what to expect from them.

In one word, yes. The story and the plot are no more and no less than any other K-drama that has lot of drama and some plot holes, though, to be honest, not a lot of them, and if you truly want to make sense of it, you can, but the pace is fantastic. The things flashes past before realise it's done. In fact some parts are done very cleverly. I never thought I would say it as a PHS fan, but romance is its weakest link, and to be honest it truly takes away anything from the whole picture. However, it's PHS who truly is like a hulk, overshadowing everything else in this drama. Go for it.

Whilst Buried hearts has been steadily climbing over the weeks. The art of negotiation has continued to hover in the 6% Sat and 8% Sunday range for most of its run. I wonder if they will reach 9% for the final episode. I am surprised The divorce insurance started so high and wonder if it will stay at just over 2% or climb higher over the next few weeks when it settles into the story?

Is 3% really considered a high ratings debut? Man the death of linear TV is sad to see.

Also, Lee Dong Wook is very popular right now and his variety Youtube episodes with Yoo Jae Suk get millions of views, so hopefully that will help boost the ratings.

Yes, it is high for a cable channel like TvN, especially on a Monday...and if it is a romcom.

The divorce insurance dropped to 2.0% and 1.4% this week. It's not looking too promising.
There is New Recruit 3 airing on the same days but I think viewers can watch one after the other time wise

Art of Negotiation actually hit over 9.5% in Seoul on Sunday night. I'm not sure why, but I was always under the impression that hitting a high number in Seoul was considered a positive (advertisers, etc) than country-wide where cable isn't as available/purchased.

I'm not sure if it's a good sign when tvN's best performing drama so far this year is the only drama of theirs that's not a rom-com, and two of their rom-coms flopped hard. Whatever their current strategy is, it doesn't seem to be working. I'm curious to see how Divorce Insurance performs this week, because that episode 2 drop is slightly worrying, but hopefully it bounces back quickly.

Hopefully Resident Playbook does well, because tvN could really use a win right about now.

It's interesting becuase MBC and SBS had recent success with romance shows (Love Scout. When The Phone Rings) so it's not like the genre isn't popular anymore.

I think TVN need to be more selective with their scripts, it's great to have buzzy names like Lee Min Ho and Kang Tae Oh lead your dramas, but if the script is bad people aren't gonna watch.

Love Scout and WTPR weren't really comedies though. But I also think that MBC and SBS just have more variety when it comes to their dramas in terms of genres, which seems to work out for them rather well. tvN mostly seems to stick to the rom-com genre currently, which wouldn't be a problem if they did well, but clearly something ain't working. So, yeah, they really need to be selective when it comes to scripts (and maybe don't limit themselves to rom-coms only). They're at 2 flops this year already, and Divorce Insurance only got a 2% for it's 3rd episode. Whatever they're doing now just isn't sustainable in the long term.

Very true...these dramas bring in themes like family, workplace issues and thrillers. Apart from the fact that they are public/free-to-air channels.

Plus, Potato Lab has officially earned the title as the first TvN weekend drama that ends with a rating under 2%, which is not a norm for TvN at all.

It's a shame not many watched The Potato Lab. I'm so happy with it. Gonna miss Kang Tae Oh and Lee Sun Bin together. 😭 Hope they have new projects soon.

Yay yay!! I too am Team Potato. 🙌
It was an underrated gem. All characters had their own charm. And surprise surprise the villagers weren't a gossipy toxic bunch per usual. 😂🤣

Oh yeah, true about the villagers! They had their chatter, but they were more excited about certain news and had their hearts in the right place.

I loved it, too. The lead couple was fun, the storyline was interesting and creative (for what it was), and I was never bored. Will miss this one, for sure!

The storyline was definitely "interesting and creative" and as much fun as the crispy crunchy potato puns made on DB. 😂🤣 Also I doubt anyone could watch the drama without craving some potato chips!! 😋

The Divorce Insurance has had a solid start as expected. The drama is actually good and more romantic than what I had hoped for.🤞🏻I hope the continue with the fun vibe.

Happy for The Art of  Negotiation. Wish some more people had seen The Potato Lab. It was a strange but sweet drama. I couldn't help but crack up when the "scientists" and "researchers" were seriously talking about potatoes. 😂 But it was a fun drama which kept true to its vibe.

Our Weekender is doing relatively well.

Considering that it is a Monday-Tuesday show on cable rather than one of the Big Three THE DIVORCE INSURANCE actually did fairly well.

I think Potato Lab is the first drama I like that has such low ratings. I can brag now that I am one of those cool people that likes what most people don't. Of course it's just a light rom-com but it was just what I needed and looking at the moment. The surprise was that I thought I would really not like it and I didn't even consider it. And all the kissing while you are drunk but I am not interested and I am going to hurt you by going fast with my truck while you are in the back must have ticked a lot of koreans off. In the end it turned out to be a story about forgivenessand I liked how ended everything. Maybe Koreans are watching them on their own time just like us on Netflix or the country is having a lot of turmoil with the impeachment and the fires because all of the others are not doing that great considering that not that many dramas are airing.
Anyway, I don't care, I am cool now! For a bot, of course.

KBS must be relieved they have For Eagle Brothers, because their mid-week dramas are managing to score lower than tvN these days!
Speaking of...the Divorce Insurance keeps dropping with every episode. I don't know what it is but something is not clicking. The cast are pretty good!
