News bites: March 4, 2025

  • JTBC announced updates to their 2025 drama lineup, adding two new romances to the list. Slated to broadcast later this year, we can expect a heartwarming tale in both A Good Man (starring Lee Dong-wook, Lee Sung-kyung) as well as My Youth (starring Song Joong-ki, Chun Woo-hee). The latter is said to have finished filming early this week. [JTBC, Joy News 24]

  • In the meantime, Lee Dong-wook (A Shop for Killers) is soliciting us to apply for The Divorce Insurance in tvN’s latest poster – costing us just a few shiny pennies at 27,900 South Korean won/month. Accompanied by his office drama colleagues, Lee Joo-bin (Tarot), Lee Kwang-soo (No Way Out – The Roulette), and Lee Da-hee (Island), the policy plan is set to begin on March 31 this month. [MBC]

  • KBS came out with their first poster for 24-Hour Health Club, putting up notices for the fitness regime launching in the Wednesday-Thursday slot on April 30. Starring Lee Jun-young (Melo Movie) and Jung Eun-ji (Miss Night and Day) as our opposites-attract pair, time is money muscle in this sports rom-com and the nefarious sweet potato that I just ate yesterday is a big no-no as well. • TVING has reportedly put a hold on Running Mate in a short-notice decision and is currently re-discussing a more suitable period for release. With production led by Parasite’s co-screenwriter Han Jin-won – in addition to co-writing by Hong Ji-soo and Oh Do-gun – the youth series stars Yoon Hyun-soo (Chief Detective 1958), Lee Jung-shik (Tracer) and Choi Woo-sung (Chief Detective 1958) among others in the ensemble cast. • MBC dropped a new poster for Crushology 101, where there’s a plentiful sea of handsome fish in Noh Jung-eui’s (The Witch) college waters. Premiering in the weekend slot on April 4, the campus romance will be following our heroine’s eeny, meeny, miny, moe between Lee Chae-min (Hierarchy), Jo Joon-young (All That We Loved), Kim Hyun-jin (My Sweet Mobster), and Hong Min-ki (Study Group). This has to be a first😮 on the surface all the above look like potential watches for me. No random stalkers hidden from the soft lighting rom com poster. Not going to celebrate too early having been burnt way too many times. So good to see there could be options.

1. Solid powerhouses. I love the pairings in these two. No inbalance of any sort.

Please both of you, be like Love Scout. Always more if possible but no less.

Lee Dong-wook all day everyday is happiness ❤️ And I'm so excited for the darling Chun Woo-hee. Love the pairing with Song Joong-ki.

No. 3. KBS’s 24-HOUR HEALTH CLUB. I will check this one out. My only Lee Jun-young drama is Netflix’s D.P. (2021). His appearance as Army deserter Jung Hyeon-min in episode 3 and fight sequence with Jung Hae-in was outstanding. According to a report the actors trained for months to portray a realistic fist fight. If interested you can catch it in episode 3 with 40.09 left in the episode or start at 44.38 to go if you want to see LJY’s arc from the beginning. I am sure he has kept himself in great shape.
He must be part Netflix’s stable of actors because in April alone we may be catching him in 2 Netflix dramas: TANGERINES (Guest role) and WEAK HERO CLASS 2 (Main Role).

Thanks for the time stamp.

Lee Jun Young is the only actor who has caused me to watch 4 of his shows back to back, which is something I never do. He is exceptionally talented.

Brave Citizen was filmed in 2023, so yes, he has definitely kept himself in great shape.
