Kim Sung-chul, Park Bo-young

Kim Sung-chul (Hellbound 2) is reviewing an offer to star in Gold Land, possibly becoming middle-school classmates with Park Bo-young (Light Shop) who remains in talks. In a wild adventure involving romance, a pile of gold, and murder – all set around a new casino built to re-develop a disused coal industry district – the series has PD Kim Sung-hoon (Chief Detective 1958) directing and working again with screenwriter Hwang Jo-yoon (Memoir of a Murderer) after the 2018 film Rampant. A new teaser has come out for MBC’s upcoming Crushology 101, sending Noh Jung-eui (The Witch) to her college classes along with four other cuties: Lee Chae-min (Hierarchy), Jo Joon-young (All That We Loved), Kim Hyun-jin (My Sweet Mobster), and Hong Min-ki (Study Group). The campus romance and webtoon adaptation will be airing on weekends following Undercover High School in April. [MBC]

On KBS, we get our first look at our soon-to-be gym buddies Lee Jun-young (Melo Movie) and Jung Eun-ji (Miss Night and Day) in the newly dropped stills for 24-Hour Health Club. Slated to premiere on April 30 in the Wednesday-Thursday slot, the sports rom-com has PD Park Jun-soo (Gaus Electronics) and PD Choi Yeon-soo co-directing, together with scripts by Kim Ji-soo (Birthcare Center). Lee Dong-wook (A Shop for Killers) and team are reaching out to welcome the married, re-married, single, and divorced because status doesn’t matter when applying for tvN’s The Divorce Insurance. With Lee Joo-bin (Tarot), Lee Kwang-soo (No Way Out – The Roulette), and Lee Da-hee (Island) giving their best corporate smiles on the latest billboard poster, the office comedy will be launching on March 31 next month. JTBC’s new teaser and poster for The Art of Negotiation is calling us to their office as well, taking us for a walk alongside Lee Je-hoon (Chief Detective 1958) and Kim Dae-myung (Light Shop) as they suit up for another M&A business battle. The mediation war will soon begin on March 8, with production led by PD Ahn Pan-seok (The Midnight Romance in Hagwon) and writer Lee Seung-young. [MBC]
Promos also continue for JTBC’s Heavenly Ever After with stills from the fantasy’s first script reading. Headlined by Kim Hye-ja (Our Blues) and Sohn Seok-gu (A Killer’s Paradox) as our married couple in their afterlife, the series lines up a talented cast including Han Ji-min (Love Scout) and Lee Jung-eun (Light Shop), in addition to Chun Ho-jin (The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract) and Ryu Deok-hwan (LTNS). Crushology - yeah no. Not interested. But I'm not the target audience.

24-Hour Health Club - Lee Jun Young? Heck yes 🙃

Art of Negotiation - PD Ahn Pan Seok? uhhhhh... Anyone know what song he's picked for this one? 😬

Heavenly Ever After - idk... I love the cast but not the premise so much.

@elinor : Its time that you recognize the fat suit as an essential kdrama trope, ala the white truck. Who among us did not say, when seeing the dangerously thin Moon Ga-young walk down the stairs in the little black dress selected for her by the ML in My Dearest Nemesis, "Why oh why is she not wearing a fat suit!" I know I did.

The point is that the fat suit is often the only choice for writers who do not want their female characters to be so skinny it generates deep alarm, pulling their viewers out of the story.

24-Hour Health Club looks like it's going to be super interesting. Same with The Divorce Insurance. Heavenly Ever After does not sound like my cup of tea, but it's Sohn Seok-gu and I lurve him so we'll see.

1. Park Bo-young (35) and Kim Sung-cheol (33) as middle-school classmates ... Dae, dae, just another day in dramaland. Totally legit. 🙈😂

2. I am liking Noh Jung-eui in The Witch. So maybe I will check this one out. It would be difficult for any drama to step into the shows of Undercover High School ... maybe the humor may do the trick!?

3. Whoops it took me a while to recognize Jung Eun-ji. The Ajhumma gang looks like fun. Let us see how much fun the drama is.

4. Huh!? Is Lee Dong-wook "smiling" in the billboard poster. 🤔🧐 *cough cough*

5. I am always ready to take a walk along with Lee Je-hoon. Also ready to suit up. 😂

6. This May-December pairing which is actually Benjamin Buttoning does look good. The key is how well-written the script is. The premise is great but the writing can either make it an instant classic or a dumpster fire. I don't think there is a middle ground.
