MBC announced a new sports comedy called Director Maeng’s Internet Troll (roughly translated), featuring an odd-couple team-up between pro basketball director Park Sung-woong (Dong-jae the Good or the Bastard) and his dedicated anti-fan Park Sang-hoon (The Witch). Expected to air sometime before July, the 2-episode short drama has PD Hyun Sol-ip (You Drive Me Crazy) directing and scripts by Kim Dam, the winner of MBC’s 2024 writing contest. [MBC]

We may have to wait longer, though, for MBC’s 21st Century Prince’s Wife (working title) – starring IU (Hotel Del Luna) and Byun Woo-seok (Lovely Runner) – as the romance is reportedly in discussions to broadcast in early 2026. In its place, MBC is said to be considering the legal timeslip Judge Lee Han-young – starring Ji Sung (Connection) – to be slotted on the schedule for later this year. [Osen]
Over on Netflix, preparations are well underway for Weak Hero Class 2 and the platform has now picked up the rights for Wavve’s first season, releasing Weak Hero Class 1 for streaming internationally (across approximately 190 countries) on March 25. Our underdog protagonist Park Ji-hoon (Love Song for Illusion) will soon be back to face another harrowing semester when the second season launches in Q2. [MBC]

Speaking of sequels, Jo Woo-jin (Gangnam B-Side) has confirmed that he’ll be making a special guest appearance in tvN’s The Second Signal, but the details regarding the character is being kept under wraps. Headlined by our returning heroes, Lee Je-hoon (Chief Detective 1958), Kim Hye-soo (Unmasked), and Jo Jin-woong (No Way Out- The Roulette), production is being led by filmmaker Ahn Tae-jin (The Night Owl) and the original writer Kim Eun-hee (Revenant). ENA’s Riding Life came out with a new highlights reel, following the overly busy life of seven-year old Kim Sa-rang as she scrambles to be on time for all her after-school activities. Slated to premiere on this coming March 3, the family comedy also stars mom Jeon Hye-jin (Not Others) and granny Jo Min-soo (The Cursed). [Newsen]
The first poster and teaser has dropped for Netflix’s upcoming film Revelations, embroiling pastor Ryu Joon-yeol (The 8 Show) and detective Shin Hyun-bin (Cinderella at 2AM) in the mystery-horror story. Releasing next month on March 21, filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho is at the helm, working again with Choi Kyu-seok to co-write the scripts after Hellbound 2. The crime-thriller also notably has Alfonso Cuaron (Disclaimer, Roma) as executive producer. [10 Asia]

Busy IU can only do so many dramas given her main career. We would have gone to the theater broadcast of her most recent concert if my wife was not in a boot. We are looking forward to WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU TANGERINES which starts this weekend on NETFLIX.

1. ... and because stories of a celebrity (?) and their anti-fan are always such fun ain't they. 🙈🤷‍♀️ Atleast it is only a (long-ish) movie length drama.

2. Oh no. I would have been mightily disappointed with the delay if it was anyone other than Ji Sung Oppa. 🫰🏻 No worries, take your time MBC. Just make 21st Century Prince’s Wife worth our time ... and waiting.

3. Season 1 was a hard hitting drama if there ever was one. Not easily forgettable. Best of luck for Season 2. My heart sinks at the prospect of facing "another harrowing semester when the second season launches" but then I have to remind myself that it is a drama. 😅😰 And at times these things need to be discussed.

4. Dae, dae, I am cautiously optimistic. Not stomping my feet in excitement over every little bit of new at all ... ani, ani, aniya, that ain't me, at all. 🙈😂

5. Over promotion perhaps!? 🤔 Leave something to watch in the drama. 😂

6. Mystery - horror - crime - thriller. Oh! Okay then.
