Moon Ga-young’s new boss is My Dearest Nemesis Choi Hyun-wook

The first script reading stills and a video have dropped for tvN’s upcoming My Dearest Nemesis, turning a terrible first love experience into an eventual happy ending when Moon Ga-young (The Interest of Love) is reunited with Choi Hyun-wook (Twinkling Watermelon) in this office rom-com.

Based on a popular webtoon by Hyejinyang (the original webtoonist for The Tale of Nokdu), our energetic heroine is Baek Soo-jung (Moon Ga-young) who is known for being hardworking, capable, and always speaking her mind. She works as the development team lead at our story’s Yongsung department store — which can be translated in English as “Dragon Castle.”

This dragon of course refers to our hero Ban Joo-yeon (Choi Hyun-wook), the newly appointed department store director and a member of dramaland’s never-dying species: the nth generation chaebol. But unbeknownst to most of his new colleagues, Joo-yeon’s online alias is “Black Dragon” and he shares an embarrassing past with fellow gamer “Strawberry” — who turns out to be none other than Soo-jung.

Im Se-mi (The Whirlwind) takes on the role of Seo Ha-jin, a free-spirited bar owner and close friend of Soo-jung. But thank ye drama gods because the love square has been thwarted and Ha-jin’s attentions will be drawn to the affectionate Kwak Shi-yang (Flex x Cop) playing Kim Shin-won, the head of the design team at Yongsung department store.

In supportive roles, Chairwoman Ban Hyo-jung (Dear Hyeri, My Merry Marriage) plays our hero’s grandmother, the chaebol family matriarch and the head of the larger Yongsung Group. Assisting Joo-yeon is secretary Kim Young-ah (Maestra – Strings of Truth), while Soo-jung has dad Go Chang-seok (The Impossible Heir) in her corner along with Sohn Sang-yeon (The Matchmakers).

With scripts penned by Kim Soo-yeon, production is helmed by PD Lee Soo-hyun (Delightfully Deceitful) who worked previously with Moon Ga-young on Find Me in Your Memory. Slated to broadcast in tvN’s Monday-Tuesday slot, My Dearest Nemesis will be following The Queen Who Crowns in February.

I'll probably be in dire need of a rom-com after 12 episodes of The Queen Who Crowns, so this might just do the trick. Hopefully it's a good one.

Choi Hyun-wook as a director... I guess 2025 continues 2024's trend of very young actor playing not credible director.

Moon Ga-young is back! The Interest of Love as one of my favorite drama of 2023.

Awww, look at Choi Hyun Wook with his leading role!
Honestly, I'm not too interested in the premise but I would consider checking it out because of him. I can't even imagine him as businessman/manager type though I can totally see him doing the gamer part haha.

It was said Choi Hyun Wook and Moon Ga Young are reuniting; what were they in together before?

I think by reuniting they mean working in the same department store in the present while both had a connection in the past as online gamers as is mentioned in the summary.
