Jinyoung reunites with The Witch Noh Jung-eui

Channel A has released a new moody teaser for its upcoming mystery romance The Witch starring Noh Jung-eui (Hierarchy) and Jinyoung (Yumi’s Cells 2). Adapted from the eponymous webtoon by Kangfull (Light Shop, Moving), the drama follows an unlucky girl who brings misfortune to others and is thus labeled a witch.

The teaser opens with Park Mi-jung (Noh Jung-eui) walking in the snow as she narrates to the audience that strange incidents keep happening around her ever since she was little. While she stands in the distance, an electric line falls from a pole and hits a boy riding his bike. That same boy tragically dies, and though Mi-jung suffers from the loss like everyone else, her classmates start calling her a witch.

Mi-jung treads alone in the stark white snow feeling isolated, but watching her from his seat is fellow schoolmate Lee Dong-jin (Jinyoung). Unlike the others, he does not believe in the rumors and is determined to tell Mi-jung that she is not a witch. He runs with all his might to her house, but by the time he arrives, she has already packed up her things and left. As Dong-jin reflects on his feelings, he realizes that those words were his one-sided crush he could not express to her in time.

As the teaser jumps to an undisclosed future, adult Dong-jin has a fateful encounter with Mi-jung on the subway, and it all feels like a dream – or a lie. Unable to tear his eyes away from her, he finds her new place and enters back into her life, believing their meeting was fate.

Directed by filmmaker Kim Tae-gyun (Dark Figure of Crime) with scripts penned by Jo Yoo-jin (Pilot), Channel A’s The Witch is slated for ten episodes and premieres February 15 in the Saturday-Sunday slot following Check In Hanyang.

Don't much care about how they plan to resolve this witch thing... having too much fun imagining things they won't do, like deciding where she should move and who she should get close to so she can inflict misfortune on people who really deserve it. Maybe the writer of When Stars Gossip?

I didn't really like The Light Shop or Moving so not sure about this one either but I'll give it a try. Jinyoung is the draw for me and hope about a good resolution for the ending.
