Sorry Not Sorry: Episode 2

Our leading lady gets a mixed bag of good and weird curveballs this week, and she reconnects with her ex best friend, which seems to be a good thing for both of them. In contrast, the ex-boyfriend gets weirder and more creepy as this week’s episode goes on.

EPISODE 2

Shall we begin with the weird and creepy ex-boyfriend? Last week Song-yi had gone upstairs to complain about her flooding toilet. When Song-yi’s ex-boyfriend opens up the door and his very attractive wife follows him, Song-yi stomps on his foot to stop him from talking and introducing her haha.

Song-yi scurries off under a veil of embarrassment and is horrified when she gets home, rolling around on the floor and beating thin air. The next day Song-yi bumps into her ex-boyfriend’s wife in the elevator and doesn’t understand how he managed to marry such an attractive woman.

After this, Song-yi happens to bump into the ex-boyfriend again in the building’s gym. And this is where things turn a little creepy: the ex-boyfriend gets too close to Song-yi and breathes on her neck saying he wants to meet her privately. Ewwwwww.

It’s hard not to go for an immediate shower right now, but the ex-boyfriend does in fact get worse! Song-yi gets a phone call late at night and it is her ex-boyfriend telling her he’s in a sexless marriage… Creep! *Red alarms bells ringing all around my head*

Our ex-best friends reconnecting had to be one of my favorite things in this week’s episode. Song-yi admits she always felt like an outsider when she moved to this neighborhood, and then her life fell apart, keeping her on the outside of everything.

But we learn a little about Hana too — when her life’s plans changed and she got married, she purposefully had IVF in the hopes of having twins so she wouldn’t have to take more time off work having multiple pregnancies. When you see Hana with her husband though… these two crack me up with their facemasks and foot rubs! Cute.

Hana is just as loving with her twins, but life has decided to throw her a curveball and she’s now pregnant with her third child. Hana wants to prove she doesn’t need any help at work, but of course she’s only one person and can’t be everywhere all of the time. I love how her boss and her juniors support her, though.

Meanwhile, Song-yi is constantly being misunderstood by the gaggle of kindergarten mothers and more rumors are spreading about her. Song-yi now, according to the gaggle, owns the coffee shop because her very sweet boss KIM YE-AHN (Kim Mu-jun) tried to bail her out when the gaggle came in – pretending she was the owner.

Song-yi’s inability to find the right time to chime in is getting her in even more trouble. But the gaggle of kindergarten mums are bitching about Hana behind her back — about how she works too much and the kids are always at kindergarten till late. This spurs Song-yi on and she tells Hana the whole truth about herself.

It’s nice to see Hana and Song-yi behaving like the friends they once were when they were younger. Both Hana and Song-yi are “outcasts” but they are way more honest with each other than our gaggle of mums. I know which group I would rather be a part of.

JSM has a history of leading a show and doing comedy well. The first episode was packed with information and humor as she plays a crushed divorcee with massive debts, a nutty sister and cute Korean-American nephew living in a vicious upper class social circle. The English kindergarten reminds me of the HIGH CLASS premise, with nosy and judgmental mothers, but SORRY has a more pathetic vibe to it.

Episode 2 confirms that observation with the mother group having their own secrets. Song-Yi’s ghosting of Ha-Na was because she was a “condescending” friend. Song-Yi calls the neighborhood weird after her confession of white lies and mother group gossip to Ha-Na, her re-befriended friend. Ha-Na learns to rely on others, which in the long run, means Song-Yi with her twins.

I think a better "friend" group will form with Song-Yi, Hana and the pottery teacher.

I was getting a bit uncomfortable with so many lies, so I felt really good to see Song Yi be honest with at lest one person. The only person that mattered anyway.

The whole "ghosting you for a decade because you're condescending"... I wonder if that's the whole story. I mean, why wouldn't she just ask her to stop? Or break the friendship after telling her that she thinks their relationship is hurting her? Why disappear like that? To your best friend? That's just wrong.

But anyway, I love that they're friends again. Song Yi is getting more and more people on her side. I like that. Her boss is lovely. And her sis and nephew adorable. I hope her lawyer becomes a good ally soon.

I find this drama really cute, and I like how we get so many unexpected sweet moments. Like the boss and colleagues support. Awwwwww.
This is just a nice and harmless watch.

She's here and she's great! I speak of none other than our pottery teacher...she yawns at the tedious Sky Castle Kindergarten Moms and is in some sort of relationship with the absolute creepiest dude ever (@starrygazer's description was on point). I gather they are really married...but I don't think I've ever heard HER admit that, so maybe there's more to that story.

With luck, this show will out-Virtuous-Business Virtuous Business and we'll have a fantastic girl-buddy comedy wherein our trio saves themselves from their own worst enemies.

I was right! The ML was the guy in the bus and he is her neighbor but on the same floor.

Not really sure why she didn't speak to her friend anymore but it was nice to see them reconnecting. She had one person she can be honest with. Honestly, she had the possibility to answer she was working at the coffee shop. She gets herself into trouble.

The ex is super creepy. I wonder how Chan-Yang will be added to their friend group.
