Eom Ji-won, Ahn Jae-wook

  • KBS confirmed their next weekender Please Look After the Five Eagle Brothers (roughly translated), lining up Eom Ji-won (The Trunk) and Ahn Jae-wook (Not Others) to lead the ensemble cast. Slated to air in February next year, the title refers to Eom’s late husband Lee Pil-mo (Destined With You) and his four younger brothers played by Choi Dae-chul (Serendipity’s Embrace), Kim Dong-wan (No Work, Cheer Up Mr. Kim), Yoon Park (Cinderella at 2AM), and rookie Lee Seok-ki. • The ever-busy Seo Hyun-woo (The Fiery Priest 2) is becoming a movie producer for SBS’s Our Film, joining Namgoong Min (My Dearest) and Jeon Yeo-bin (A Time Called You) in the melodrama’s main lineup. Helmed by PD Lee Jung-heum (Inspector Koo) with Han Ga-eun and Kang Kyung-min co-writing, the romance is expected to broadcast sometime in 2025. [Newsen]
  • SBS prepared a highlight reel for Love Scout, where CEO Han Ji-min (Behind Your Touch) and secretary Lee Jun-hyuk (Dongjae the Good or the Bastard) are somehow getting work done between all the smitten stares. Along with Kim Do-hoon (Your Honor) and Kim Yoon-hye (Jeongnyeon – The Star is Born) as the second leads, the office romance will be swirling love between our square when the series begins on January 3. • In the last leg of promos for Namib, ENA released new videos (found here and here) as well as a group poster, revealing more about the underdog story to come. Headlined by Go Hyun-jung (Mask Girl), Ryeoun (Twinkling Watermelon), Yoon Sang-hyun (Perfect Family), and Lee Jin-woo (Social Savvy Class 101), the drama will be premiering on December 23 next week. • Over on tvN, the will-they-won’t-they discussions continue for Resident Playbook and reports suggested that the medical series is being considered for the upcoming summer schedule. But the channel has since announced that it’s still undecided. Starring Go Yoon-jung (Death’s Game) and Kang Yoo-seok (Black Knight) among others, production for the Hospital Playlist spin-off has PD Lee Min-soo (Heartbeat) directing with scripts by Kim Song-hee (Hospital Playlist 1). • In the meantime, tvN is robing up for The Queen Who Crowns, featuring Cha Joo-young (The Real Has Come) and Lee Hyun-wook (Song of the Bandits) in the newest stills – also giving us our first look at Lee Sung-min (A Bloody Lucky Day) as Lee Seong-gye, the first king of Joseon and our hero’s father. The sageuk unfolds on January 6, following Parole Examiner Lee in the Monday-Tuesday slot. [Newsen (1), (2)]
