Love Scout Han Ji-min and her secretary Lee Jun-hyuk

A mellow teaser serves as our first introduction to the office romance of SBS’s Love Scout, starring Han Ji-min (Behind Your Touch) as a pragmatic career woman and Lee Jun-hyuk (Dongjae, the Good or the Bastard) as her loyal secretary. Though she initially only has the bandwidth for work, the gentle support of her most trusted aide gradually opens her heart up to romance.

One late night, in the empty headhunting office, CEO Kang Ji-yoon (Han Ji-min) can’t help but gaze thoughtfully at her drowsy secretary Yoo Eun-ho (Lee Jun-hyuk). In response to the question of who Eun-ho is to her, Ji-yoon offers nothing but the standard answer: “What do you mean? He’s my secretary.” Yet Ji-yoon’s actions betray her inner thoughts, for she reaches out to the dozing Eun-ho, her fingers hovering just short of grazing his lips.

Amidst these burgeoning feelings, Ji-yoon isn’t alone. “To keep gazing at someone,” muses Eun-ho as he watches Ji-yoon from afar, “means one’s heart is drawn to them, doesn’t it?” Back in the office, Ji-yoon awkwardly proffers a cup of coffee to Eun-ho, claiming she accidentally made an extra because she pressed the wrong button. Just as she turns to leave, though, Eun-ho makes his move: “Shall we drink our coffees together?”

For all that Ji-yoon tries to distance herself from Eun-ho, they only end up growing closer. “There’s someone I’ve grown to care about,” admits Eun-ho, sheltering Ji-yoon from the rain while his own shoulder gets wet. Ji-yoon can’t remain unaffected, especially not when he’s tenderly adjusting her collar. “I can’t focus on work,” she realizes, keenly aware of their proximity. “He keeps crossing the line.”

When the question arises again — “Is Yoo Eun-ho really just a secretary to you?” — the answer becomes clear to Ji-yoon. Eun-ho’s steadfast companionship and warm comfort have healed her heart. “So what if you crumble? You can just stand up again,” Eun-ho reassures a weary Ji-yoon. “I’ll catch you.”

Another night, on the office balcony, Ji-yoon finally takes one step closer to Eun-ho. “Shall we get off work now?” she asks, a light smile on her face. In return, Eun-ho reciprocates, taking a step forward too. “I’ve already gotten off work,” Eun-ho says, gazing intently at Ji-yoon, a tender affection in his eyes.

Helmed by PDs Ham Jun-ho (My Strange Hero, Payback) and Kim Jae-hong, with scripts penned by Ji Eun, Love Scout is slated for a January 3 premiere.

*fuels & boots up the squeee machine*

Yes please. Somehow I’ve been watching so much stuff lately leaning heavy into melo, that I’m ready for a sweet, sweeeeet grownup romance. This looks super swoony (but let’s be real, there could be lots of melo just lurking behind the corner. Maybe until this airs I will have worked up the necessary resilience again. Fighting!)!

omg the lines sound like the lines that ChatGPT came up with when I instructed it to write an alternate screenplay for DNA Lovers.

Seems Lee Jun-hyuk is done avoiding romance like it’s a plague. Time to put his good looks and acting chops to gather more fans. And please don’t die.

He's like Sean Bean whose character dies in everything he stars in?

Not as extreme as Sean Bean but I remember him dying many times🥲.

Would you be interested in watching Dark Hole if I promise you that he survives, and it's a zombie apocalypse. And he has great chemistry with his FL.

I did finish it eventually last year😂 (I stopped watching when it aired). Him not dying make it bearable. Zombie is just not really my cup of tea. And yes I like his chemistry with Kim Ok-bin, better if there’s no zombies around tho.

I’m not sure if it’s confirmed, but I read somewhere he’s slated to pair with Shin Hae-sun in a new drama.

You finished it even though zombies are not your thing - so proud of youuu hehe. yes it will be so nice to see Shin Hae-sun returning to the criminal thriller genre, but this time as the criminal?! lolz. Lee Joon-hyuk is dreamy as a cop, so no complaint there in his casting either. It's funny though because Kim Ok-vin was jokingly complaining how they barely had any scenes together in Dark Hole, and that she hopes they get to film a rom-com next. Too bad she didn't get her wish yet. They do make a nice pair.

I fast forward some scenes, but I also knew beforehand that he would be alive. If not, there’s zero chance i would resume😂

…. But he HAS done romances before:
A Poem a Day

***Spoilers for those who haven’t watched***
The premise of that drama was basically the FL choosing between her petulant ex (I think he was her ex— I’ve forgotten the finer details— portrayed by Kim Dong Yoon) or the introverted and gentlemanly mentor (Lee Jun Hyuk)

He did, but way less compared to other actors with a face as gorgeous as he has. I’m firmly team Dr. Ye 😂.

That short drama about fireman could also be so much more. His chemistry is good with Jung In-sung. And also in 365, it’s like he’s showing he would be good in a romance drama but just won’t do it.

I think FL were only friends with the same age doctor.
But Dr Ye is the best hands down!

Lee Jun Hyuk took his own sweet time accepting a romance drama. I am glad he finally accepted one (and hopefully more projects soon).

I liked him in that but it was so long ago in 2018.
He was more like the cold and competent ML. I think I will love him better in Love Scout.

I loved A Poem a Day! But he was pretty miserable in that one because doctors lead miserable lives lol

APAD is a great drama! I loved it too!
I dont remember him being miserable. I may rewatch it to be sure. 😉

I don’t remember him as being miserable, either. Just very, very, very introverted

Please let us know what you think! Also for all intents and purposes I did remember APAD and Birth of a Beauty, it was a joke about how post-COVID it feels a lot of doctors lead such rough existences lol

I watched A Poem A Day just for him! And fast forwarded all the other scenes that didn't have him in it lol! He was very good, so good that I wish he had a bigger role and more scenes~ He was so handsome and the FL was so wonderful and had the perfect amount of sweetness. Just a wonderful watch~

“Wonderful” is actually the perfect description for the drama 🥰🥰🥰
It definitely felt like the writers and producers were pulling everyone’s leg and not being super explicit about who’s the ML of the drama, but Lee Jun Hyuk’s Dr. Ye definitely had me from beginning to end!

Same. It was obvious it was him. Dr Ye is the main reason I was drawn to the show.

Lee Joonhyuk in a romance where he's not miserable or dead, we prayed to gods for many years for times like this :D

That shot of him in the burgundy suit. His bangs/hair looks so good!

Excited to see Lee Jun Hyuk back on my screen so soon and in a romance! He was charming in Dongjae. Can't wait to see him act all swoony and affectionate.

I'm just not sure about the boss & secretary dynamic. Not a new thing, but still could be an issue.
