Go Hyun-jung and Yoon Sang-hyun train Ryeoun in Namib
by tccolb
The promo campaign has set sail with a pretty first poster and script reading stills for ENA’s upcoming Namib, promising an underdog tale about music, healing, family, and growth with Go Hyun-jung (Mask Girl) as our heroine and entertainment agency CEO lead.
Although she’s the star producer who brought great success to her company, our story begins with Kang Soo-hyun (Go Hyun-jung) facing a surprising and abrupt termination, leaving her with limited options on how to move forward in her career.
This is when her eyes turn to long-time trainee Ryeoun (Twinkling Watermelon) in the role of Yoo Jin-woo. Having been stuck as an idol trainee for years on end with little hope for a real debut, Jin-woo’s self-confidence is on the rocks and though a challenge, Soo-hyun decides to bank in on his promising talent.
Also stepping up in this new journey is Soo-hyun’s husband Yoon Sang-hyun (Perfect Family). For the last ten years, Shim Jun-seok (Yoon Sang-hyun) was the homemaker and stay-at-home dad for their family. But he used to work in the industry as a music producer and he’s enlisted by Soo-hyun to help with Project Jin-woo.
Coincidentally – though the last names are different – our aspiring singer shares a name twice with Soo-hyun and Jun-seok’s son Shim Jin-woo, who is hearing-impaired (played by Lee Jin-woo (Snap and Spark)).
On the production side, the series has PD Han Sang-jae (Cold Blooded Intern) and PD Kang Min-goo co-directing with screenwriter Eom Sung-min (Default) penning the scripts. Bringing in the holiday cheer with a December 23 premiere, ENA’s Namib will be following Brewing Love in the Monday-Tuesday slot.

So up for this Yoon Sang Hyun and Ryeoun reunion! Having 2 Jin Woo characters with one played by a real Jin Woo is so trippy 😂

Looks like ... hasn't he played an aspiring musician a bit too often. 😂 He has his limitations but he's good. Hopefully he will learn and get better.

I'm not sure if he has completed his military service or is yet to go.

They've been so lowkey with the promotions that I'm taking it as a sign this could end up being really good (at least, that's the way 2024 has been going for me so far 😉)
