Everyone wants a piece of Lady Ok in new teaser

Life is busy when you’re the lady of the house. In the new teaser for JTBC’s The Tale of Lady Ok, we’re introduced to all the people who depend on our so-called Lady Ok Im Ji-yeon (The Killing Vote) to keep things running.

The teaser opens on Lady Ok Tae-young as she is asked by her apprentice Cha Mi-ryeong — played by Yeonwoo (Bittersweet Hell) — if she ever feels lonely, to which she responds: “I don’t have the time to feel loneliness with all the people that need me.”

We then get a montage of all these said “needy” people — such as her servant Kim Jae-hwa (The Judge from Hell), brother-in-law Kim Jae-won (Hierarchy), and mother-in-law Kim Mi-sook (The Whirlwind) — as they all call out to Lady Ok with her appropriate titles from lady, to sister, to just Tae-young. However, among all the ways people call her, there is one name that is particularly dangerous: Gu-deok a.k.a. Tae-young’s real name from when she was a slave.

Unfortunately for her, there are people who recognize her with this name, such as the traveling storyteller Cheon Seung-hwi, played by Choo Young-woo (Oasis). Should she be found out, the consequences will be severe (i.e. death), so Tae-young has to be extra careful not to reveal things that might hint to her past, including her mega jeon-flipping skills.

But thankfully for Tae-young, she has people in her corner who will keep her secret, like the aforementioned hot storyteller Seung-hwi who reins in other loose-lipped servants with a stony glance and a dry, “You’ve gone insane.” His loyalty makes him an essential ally to Tae-young, and she will stop at nothing to protect this patch of paradise she’s found for herself. But will she be able to outrun her past life? We’ll have to watch and find out.

Written by Park Ji-sook (Uncle) and directed by Jin Hyuk (Sisyphus: The Myth), JTBC’s The Tale of Lady Ok is set to premiere on November 30th.

The first teaser looked very serious and this one more like a comedy. I wonder what will be the ton of this drama.

Yes I was thinking it would be a serious sageuk but now 🤷‍♀️

Hope the drama is not as misleading as the teasers. 😂

Very interested in this one. I do hope it has a light touch to balance any tough stuff.

I like this light tone despite the more serious storyline of a runaway slave and her taking over the identity of a noblewoman. I hope the drama will adapt a lighter tone and not take itself too seriously. I may enjoy this more.

Interested in this! I feel like it could become serious quickly and for most of the show since Lady Ok is hiding a major secret.

I've only seen Choo Young Woo in Oasis and his awful character was so annoying and selfish. I'm glad to see him in a new drama that should be different and likable. XD

Choo Young Woo in Oasis

Aigoo, the love triangle trope with him as the Evil 2ML 😔
Why writers ?

Yup. Hopefully no love triangle here and he is the ML so that should be a good sign. 🤞

I didn't finish Oasis but I liked his acting there.
I have also seen him in Once upon a small town.

Heh, it was worth it for me due to Jang Dong Yoon's acting.

I think Choo Young Woo was capable too.
