Lee Min-ki is a cold plastic surgeon in Face Me

Plastic surgery meets violent crimes in KBS’s latest medical mystery Face Me. The upcoming show stars Lee Min-ki (Crash) as no-nonsense surgeon Cha Jung-woo and Han Ji-hyun (Spice Up Our Love) as his passionate detective counterpart. While the mix of medicine and police procedural has been done before, the plastic surgery angle might offer something a little different from the usual fare.

The latest teaser focuses on one-half of this peculiar duo, highlighting the prickly doctor who believes in results above all else. Opening with a consultation scene between Jung-woo and his patients, the people who enter his office ask him how they can change and beg to look like someone else. However, even if they throw a tantrum in front of his entire staff, Jung-woo refuses to budge because he is not here to offer compassion or consolation, just surgeries.

Despite his surly attitude, his skills speak for themselves as the teaser depicts his meticulous and steady hands in the operating room. It is no wonder that Jung-woo holds the title of director and is called the hospital’s ace. As a surgeon, he is second to none, and with just one look at a patient, he knows how to fix them.

The batch of stills released alongside the teaser also feature Jung-woo, and not a single smile can be found in any of them. Like most serious doctors in dramaland, he hides a painful past underneath his icy exterior, but that all changes when he meets his complete opposite, violent crimes detective Lee Min-hyung (Han Ji-hyun).

Also in the cast are Lee Yi-kyung (Marry My Husband) as Jung-woo’s childhood friend Han Woo-jin and Jeon Bae-soo (Dear Hyeri) as his successful mentor Kim Seok-hoon.

Directed by PD Jo Rok-hwan (Voice 2) with scripts penned by Hwang Ye-jin (Secret Mother), KBS’s Face Me is slated for twelve episodes and premieres November 6 in the Wednesday-Thursday slot.

I was over here chuckling to myself that he is another Dr. Cha, but then I realized his given name is Jung-woo/Jeong-u! How did I miss this? So we’ll have two Jung-woo plastic surgeons in dramaland this year!

I don’t remember all of them for sure (and I looked it up to double check myself before I commented haha) but he and Ha-neul were special to me.

I love Lee Min-ki but I'm struggling watching him in Crash.
The show has got great reviews so I'm hanging in there (up to episode 6) and I know it's part of his character to have a flat affect but it's really hard to connect to the show and his character.
I feel like there is something missing for me but I can't put my finger on it.
I hope this will be a better watching experience with LMK.

As usual, premise is dumber than rocks - if this guys is indeed a human god with a scalpel and has no professional shortcomings, who tf cares about his attitude problems? Sure, people insecure enough to go under a knife would probably like some gentle flattery prior the procedure, but it's result that matters here, not the journey (which is ugly, painful and pricey, but at least requires far less effort from them personally than, you know, not so intrusive body perfecting methods). I recall the same question bothering me to no end in HOUSE MD - as long as a doctor is 100% worth his money one of a kind miracle genius, why does it matter even if he's like a radioactive rabid dog outside of work field? Patients aren't seeking him for a friendly chat, you know)))
