Lee Min-ki gets entangled with Han Ji-hyun in Face Me
by lovepark
KBS has dropped a new teaser for its upcoming medical mystery Face Me starring Lee Min-ki (Crash) and Han Ji-hyun (Spice Up Our Love) as an unlikely doctor-cop pair.
The teaser opens with a tense interaction between plastic surgeon Cha Jung-woo (Lee Min-ki) and violent crimes detective Lee Min-hyung (Han Ji-hyun). He asks her what she wants to say to him, so she tells him that the word on the street is that he has a good eye. In fact, it’s so good that they say he can see things others can’t see.
Scenes of Jung-woo in various medical situations play on screen as the teaser highlights his cold personality. He tells a patient that this is a plastic surgery clinic, so if they expect emotional care as well, they should transfer to a different hospital. Even as a patient creates a ruckus and throws items across the room, Jung-woo barely bats an eye, and his unyielding attitude catches Min-hyung’s attention.
According to Jung-woo’s friend Han Woo-jin — played by Lee Yi-kyung (Marry My Husband) — our cold doctor actually moved to plastic surgery because he no longer wanted to get emotionally involved with patients. However, the standoffish Jung-woo starts to change once Min-hyung enters his life, and he acts out of character by helping her with a case.
While Min-hyung ponders over a strange wound on the victim, Jung-woo notices something odd. After examining the scar, he informs Min-hyung that the object was inserted afterwards and not caused by a fall. This one-time event, though, turns into many more as even Jung-woo’s mentor Jeon Bae-soo (Dear Hyeri) questions his continued involvement with the case.
Directed by PD Jo Rok-hwan (Voice 2) with scripts by Hwang Ye-jin (Secret Mother), KBS’s Face Me is slated for twelve episodes and premieres November 6 in the Wednesday-Thursday slot.

Even just hearing Han Ji-hyun's voice brightens my day. I truly hope this drama puts the great/intriguing mystery back into murder-mysteries. Lee Min-ki as Plastic Surgeon Sherlock Holmes (Gregory House-style) would be a fantastic thing to watch.

Lee Min-ki does cool, dry & aloof characters very well so it dove-tails nicely with the duties of a plastic surgeon who works strictly on the surface of his patients and his emotions. Seems like the violent crimes detective might change that up a bit. Also liked the allusion that he 'sees things that others can't see' which hints that this mystery medical drama will offer something a bit deeper & different when it comes to medical clues. (I hope!) I'm also a fan of medical dramas so I'm looking forward to watching it...but only after it's fully dropped. When it comes to mysteries, it's too easy for me to miss the complicated trail of clues they twine into the fabric of the story once a week. Likely because I've been spoiled by the instant gratification available in crime & mystery novels.

I do love me a good medical drama and if Lee Min-ki is leading the story with Han Ji-hyun I really think its a good one for me. Throw in a good mystery and I'm ready and waiting with tea in hand (for the cold weather).
