Premiere Watch: Dog Knows Everything

Time slot: Wednesday-Thursday
Broadcaster: KBS
Genre: Sitcom
Episode count: 12
Global streamer: Viki

Reasons to watch: KBS fills the Wednesday-Thursday slot with a sitcom (!), which should be an interesting ratings experiment. Lee Soon-jae plays the nation’s grandpa actor who falls out of favor and escapes the public eye for a bit. In his new village home he discovers he can understand the neighborhood dog when she barks, and the two get pulled into investigations together. Kim Yong-geun, Yeh Soo-jung, Park Sung-woong, and other wonderful familiar faces are here — oh and Yeonwoo — but while it sounds cute as pie, it’s also a tough sell for the international K-drama audience, methinks.

TL;DR: Actor Lee Soon-jae plays actor Lee Soon-jae and he teams up with the village dog for some local sleuthing

I will be there with DNE firstly for Ye Soo-jung, one of my favorites and secondly for Lee Soon-jae.
I think KBS is making a mistake airing this at 9:50pm. The demographic this comedy seems to be aimed at is most likely in bed by then.

Something different than the usual rom-com/horror/detective dramas? Perfect choice for cleansing my 'Kdrama palette' between courses 👏

I just finished the first two episodes.

Although I am normally not the one for talking animals: this is one cute drama in every aspect. The cast has great chemistry, and I really love to watch older people for a change.

Last, but not least: THANK YOU, writer-nims, for keeping the crime stories tight and not drawn out (I am looking at you, Seoul busters!).
