Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung
- Disney+ is lining up the period drama Made in Korea for 2025, starring a power hungry Hyun Bin (Crash Landing in You) and tenacious prosecutor Jung Woo-sung (Tell Me That You Love Me). The 1970s crime series also stars Won Ji-ahn (D.P. 2), Seo Eun-soo (Chief Detective 1958), Jo Yeo-jung (Tarot), and Jung Sung-il (The Glory). Production has filmmaker Woo Min-ho (Harbin, The Man Standing Next) at the helm with scripts co-written by Park Eun-kyo and Park Joon-seok. [News]
- Crime is certainly on Disney+’s agenda with the Seoul Busters set to soon patrol the streets and the newest poster has Kim Dong-wook (Delightfully Deceitful) leading our oddball team of cops. Alongside Park Ji-hwan (Gyeongseong Creature 1), Seo Hyun-woo (Celebrity), Park Se-wan (Doona), and Lee Seung-woo (Vigilante), the investigative comedy will be launching next week on September 11. [News]
- On the tvN front, Go Soo (Missing: The Other Side) will be doing his part to bring baddies their just desserts as our poster-featured hero in Parole Examiner Lee. Together with co-stars Kwon Yuri (Good Job), Baek Ji-won (Connection), and Lee Hak-joo (LTNS), the revenge drama premieres in October with PD Yoon Sang-ho (Curtain Call, River Where the Moon Rises) directing and writing by Park Chi-hyung. [News1]
- In the meantime, the cameo train continues on tvN’s currently airing No Gain No Love with PD Kim Jung-shik courting more of Strong Girl Nam-soon alums to make a special guest appearance. Following Kim Hae-sook (Gyeongseong Creature), Lee Seung-joon (Love Next Door), and Kim Ki-doo’s (The Kidnapping Day) visits in Episodes 1-2, upcoming Episodes 3-4 will feature Kim Jung-eun (My Dangerous Wife), Byun Woo-seok (Lovely Runner)(!), and Lee Joong-ok (The Auditors). [MBC]
- It’s been a poster-happy week with KBS’s upcoming Iron Family also adding to the gallery wall, making sure leads Kim Jung-hyun (Kokdu: Season of Deity) and Geum Sae-rok (Soundtrack #2) are squeaky clean for the weekender’s premiere. The former in particular has a lot of cleaning up and apologizing to do (please see teaser here) and his growth arc is expected to begin this month on September 28. [News]
- Coupang Play released new character posters for What Comes After Love, preparing Lee Se-young (The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract), Sakaguchi Kentaro (Beyond Goodbye, Dr. Chocolate), Hong Jong-hyun (Race), and Nakamura Anne (Aoshima-kun wa Ijiwaru) for a moody romance this fall. Slated to premiere on September 27, filmmaker Moon Hyun-sung (Seoul Vibe, The King’s Case Note) is both writing and directing – with scripts co-penned by Jung Hae-shim. [MBC]

I love how Disney can afford the big movie stars. Hyun Bin AND Jung Woo-sung? 🤩
I didn't put two and two together that the No Gain No Love cameos were favors to the PD from Strong Girl Nam-soon. I wanted to see more scenes of Kim Young-dae with his grandmother Kim Hae-sook.

Made in Korea's production budget is reported to be $36 million, substantially more than an average Korean local TV series.
Jo Yeo Jeong may be one of the busiest actresses in 2024. She has already finished two movies that have not been released, and she is starting another with Jo Jung Suk.

Made in Korea - Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung in the same drama? Are they trying to give me a heart attack? They might as well throw in Kim Soo-hyun for good measure and put the final nail in my coffin. I suppose there are worse ways to die than by an overdose of gorgeous. 🤷🏻♀️
Seoul Busters - Kim Dong-wook in a comedy? Sign me up.
Parole Examiner Lee and What Comes After Love - ☑️ Revenge drama
☑️ Moody romance
☑️ ☑️ Strong casts and creatives
Both on my watchlist.

Wow 😮 a power hungry Hyun Bin in a 1970s crime drama. Now why did I not think of this before. Welcome back to dramaland Bin-bin. I am sure you’ll be one of those deliciously bad evil guys who actually turn out to have marshmallow hearts. 🩷😂
