Is anyone watching? Episode 3 fills in a lot of blanks with constant flashbacks. Hopefully the flashbacks will not happen as often going forward. I didn't understand the ML being quite so blunt with his ex-girlfriend--"I'm ashamed when they ask me why I ever dated you." You can see your ex is floundering, you know you have a lot to do with it, you know that men can continue to compete in your career field even as they age, but women have a much harder time getting to stay in front of the camera as they get older, but you're comment is "I'm ashamed." Shame on you.

I am still watching and episode 3 really did fill in some missing elements.

I don't get the need for the 'return of the misfit' male character he seems to be an irritant to all and I think we have enough mystery characters in both office settings to keep us busy so he feels extra to requirements.

I was also disappointed in the ML's attitude to kicking the FL when she was down it was an unnecessary conversation.

It always makes me feel frustrated when there are so few women in the field and one of them happens to be flavour of the month so decides to put the others down. I wonder if they are so short sighted that they truly believe that they will be spared being in the same position as the person they are victimising.

I'm not sure if we've seen the full conversation or if we get to see an explanation later that gives his words a different meaning. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part. I was expecting him to say all along that he was ashamed that she was letting her colleagues put her down.

The way he spoke so cruelly to her in this scene was extreme, but I now think you're right. We are only given partial conversations that I'm hoping will be returned to for fuller context.

The show is definitely withholding pieces. Seems intentional.
It’s also reflective of her fragmented memory.

I just watched episode 3. Apparently there was something uncool about being willing to go into the field as an announcer? There's some cultural information missing here in a big way. I mean, she had a terrible traumatic experience doing reporting and was totally failed by her coworkers. Then the entire team gathered to criticize her. I couldn't understand any of that, but the group's anger with her made sense of why he was embarrassed. I just didn't get what she did that was wrong? Was she supposed to die in the truck with the corpse instead of texting for help? Was she supposed to phone the police? Was she supposed to turn down the assignment so she wouldn't look greedy for screen time? Isn't any of this on the (director?) who manipulated her into agreeing to the assignment and then got drunk and passed out and left her to die? Some context is missing here that's outside of the relationship with her ex.

But also, the fact that her ex's (unspecified type of relative, not actual sister) asked him if he was in love with her because he went to save her from the freezer truck was so odd. Like, if you break up with someone, are you meant to allow them to die? Or even, to suffer terrible trauma through a surprise frozen corpse? Even the FL herself was stymied in a way she shouldn't have been. Again, there was so much weird cultural context of the expectations of their workplace that I didn't get it.

I think the complaint was that she allowed the PD to put her in the water and she should have refused. It seems like announcers are supposed to maintain their image while variety show people are supposed to make fools of themselves on camera. So, her jumping in the water was a bit undignified. Or, that is the way I saw it.

Ah, they are unhappy that these two assignments were an insult to the dignity of the job! I was glad in the fourth episode that we learned that the PD got in trouble for some of her shenanigans with her announcer. But we only see Eun-ho's struggle session (!) not the announcer's.

I agree that a group meeting to condenm one person's actions seemed very extreme.

Hyeri was probably tortured and murdered which maybe why Eunho sees Hyeri's wounds.

or maybe Eunho wants to harm her body to match the wounds in her mind because of stress or maybe it is to represent her hurt state of mind

I have a busy day. Only have time for a short comment. Episode 4 was brilliant: dialogue, editing, directing, acting.

Episode 4 was great and at times heartbreaking.

The scene at the edge of the forest was both impressive and almost surreal. On the one hand, the forest looked fabulously beautiful, but at the same time seemed incredibly threatening.
This scene and Eun-ho's later panic attack left me almost breathless.

Apparently it's not just the loss of her sister that torments Eun-ho, but also feelings of guilt because she pushed her sister to go on the trip.

Director does an amazing job on this.
It was like night, but with the sun still in the sky.

Sometimes, writer has also strokes of genius:
That scene episode 4 with the face against the mirror, followed by the crisis of flashback from Hyeri, then mirror breaking.

Panic attack scene had an emotional impact like we rarely see.
Great acting. We see here too how the director split her with a double as blurry image.

Episode 3, 49:25. Eun-Ho's residence, night.
This scene is pure marvel. Can be directing or acting. Wooo!
Also, stop on this shot at 51:06. Director is godly!

I like the reflection! It makes it look like he's standing behind her instead of in front of her.

Indeed, it's an argument scene, and we see lot of shots usual for that, aka: one shot of character looking on the right, then one shot of other looking on the left. Opposition. But here, director put him in her back, like a hidden motive he has to help despite the argument and the lies. It's so crazy good, and quite difficult to make.

I really liked what Hye-Ri had to say about happiness in Episode 3. By writing to her self, she is doing everything she can to protect her happiness. I do think that the story was a little weak because if someone truly never had happiness and suddenly experienced happiness for the first time, they would not be able to articulate the feeling and experience. Rather, they would be in utter shock.

Since Hye-ri is Eun-ho's subconscious idea of what her sister would have been like at this age... things are confusing. She's experiencing the happiness that Eun-ho wishes she had.

So... how do we get all the characters happy at the end? Because both male leads have a lot to handle in their personal life too.

I love how Hye-ri can see through Ju-yeon and pierce his armor. It's the only moments he looks happy and relax. I never understand parents who make their kid responsible of the death of their siblings. Is it so difficult to love your kids the same way? Now that she lost it, he can't protect himself by ignoring her and lives his life far from her.

Hyun-o's POV is quite mysterious for now. We don't really know why he does or not things. He's still in love with Eun-ho but once he's super nice and the second after, he's mean...

Who will be the first to tell the truth about her identity? Eun-ho or Hye-ri?

I had a chance to watch episode 4. We haven't seen early childhood memories. If people got DID from the traumatic loss of a sibling in young adulthood, wouldn't Kang Ju-yeon also have it? Is he a real person and not one of her personalities? It sure seemed satisfying that she could save him from bad situations with the personality of her younger sister. The scene where she calms and cheers his mentally-ill mother was so touching, real wish-fulfillment for the audience.

I found the panic attack the most persuasive thing that the writers have done to show mental illness. Also, the ML probably broke up with her when he realized that he's only attracted to her when she's a broken mess. Here he is, taking care of all the elderly ladies who raised him, and the younger "siblings" he has through that network. He obviously gets a lot from that. Hence his amorous reaction to the panic attack. Yikes.

I think the flaws in the show are what is making it interesting. I want to keep tuning in to see what the heck they have planned.

I can’t figure out the ML and the acting isn’t helping.
We don’t know why they broke up but the flashbacks alluded to her being very clingy. It also looks like he doesn’t know her sister died. Is that possible? Because when she blurted about her sisters death in the bar he was sleeping in front of her.
But her sister died 10 years back while they broke up 4 years back. Is that right?
He had to know right?
Your theory about his need to be wanted is interesting. Messed up but interesting 🥲

I mean, yeah, she was clingy, but really she acted pretty crazy. He even said things to her about it. Maybe he thought that she wasn't together enough for marriage? Or maybe she broke up with him! I thought the sister was considered to be missing until 2019.

Also, the acting: the character may be written to be warmer than the actor? It's pretty weird.

I just don't like the ML. It makes him happy when the FL is helpless and distressed. It seems like he has this pathological desire to be needed.
