The school semester begins with Fragile’s first promos

LG’s U+ Mobile TV has rung the morning school bell, signaling the start of promos for their upcoming youth series Fragile. Gathering a fresh-faced cast of rookies to star as our story’s central students, we’re introduced to the group at the drama’s first script reading in addition to the newly released posters.

Delving deep into the culture and everyday struggles of this generation’s teens in South Korea, the drama is set around Joong-ang High School where a series of misunderstandings has made Kim So-hee — playing Park Ji-yoo — the current subject of school gossip. Her boyfriend is the busy but free-spirited Kim Eo-jin in the role of Noh Chan-sung. And he is best buddies and childhood friends with the charismatic Kang San, played by Gong Joo-han.

With an ensemble cast lineup of ten, we also have the tough but warm-hearted transfer student Kwon Hee-song who always has your back; the pretty Moon Ji-won who likes pretty things; as well as the cutely wise Jung Yoon-seo playing that one friend everyone goes to for advice.

Our main characters also include Kim Ye-rim as the brains of group who doesn’t like to hold back on the cold, hard facts; the handsome Cha Ji-hyuk (Again My Life) who is well aware of his good looks; and the amiable but unreadable Cha Se-jin (The Real Has Come). Last but not least, our insider, popular girl is Chae Ha-jin. Although she seems to be nice to everyone else, for some reason she is only cold to Ji-yoo.

Directed by PD Ahn Ji-hoon with scripts by Park Joo-yi, U+ Mobile TV’s Fragile will have a runtime of eight episodes and is slated to premiere on September 9.

Despite this not being the Korean adaptation of Skam, as was originally rumored, I can totally recognize the S1 plotline in these character descriptions.

Regardless, I really hope this is actually an honest exploration of the lives and struggles of Korean teens, and the series doesn't shy away from the more controversial topics.

I like school based dramas and it would be great if this is like A-teen and Best mistake web drama style.

It could either be a hit or a complete miss depending on the vibe. Let's see. It is always nice to see a rookie cast. Wonder if any of them might become the next new superstar.
