Premiere Watch: No Gain No Love

Time slot: Monday-Tuesday
Broadcaster: tvN
Genre: Rom-com
Episode count: 12
Global Streamer: Amazon Prime

Reasons to watch: For those of you who had second lead syndrome (SLS) for Lee Sang-yi when he played second fiddle in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and didn’t win the love of Shin Mina — well, get ready for more, because he’s not the lead here either! Instead, the contract groom in our story is one Kim Young-dae, playing a convenience store part-timer who just so happens to fit our heroine’s perfect fake husband profile. With a scheming heroine who’s hurt and risk-averse, and a hero who (as balance would suggest) is more willing to walk on a limb for love, this rom-com is screaming “WATCH ME!” — especially with the writer of Her Private Life penning our scripts.

TL;DR: Shin Mina being her cute rom-com self

Well, since basically all rom-coms seem to fall flat with me lately, maybe this one will do the trick? Who knows, but here's hoping.

Hahaha, but at least Lee Sang Yi will have his own loveline???

Anyway, I will be tuning in tomorrow! 🙂

I just wait and read the recaps. Especially, when I read Lee Sang Yi is going to play the second male lead again. Why can't he gets the main girl for once?

Good question.

Pros: Shin Min-ah, Lee Sang-yi
Cons: not knowing whether Kim Young-dae got his triple-shot espresso and will act like he gives a damn

What to do?

Easy: emergenćy call to Lawyer Do, who will certainly provide the necessary level of caffeine in a beverage of KYD Gong Taesung’s choice - and I’m sure he’ll do it in a very bromantic fashion to boot.

A role tailor made for Shin Mina. I will definitely be watching. It is already on my watchlist on Prime.

At least we have some solid actors even if we are iffy about the rest. And who knows Jim Young-dae may still surprise (read shock) us all by *ahem* actually acting!! Just imagine. So much to look forward to. 😂

So many dramas airing at the same time... I'll just wait for this to finish and then binge it with others.

I agree. There was some real satirical bite to it: It was refreshing.
