Im Ji-yeon and Choo Young-woo tell The Life of Lady Ok

Clockwise: Im Ji-yeon, Choo Young-woo, Kim Jae-won, Yeonwoo
JTBC has announced the lineup for its new sageuk The Life of Lady Ok (roughly translated). Set during the Joseon era, the upcoming show centers around a woman with a secret and a man who would risk his life to protect her.
Playing the drama’s eponymous Lady Ok Tae-young is Im Ji-yeon (The Killing Vote). She works as a waeji-bu (aka, Joseon attorney) and is beloved by everyone for her kind heart and exceptional skills. However, everything about her from her name to her husband is fake.
In love with Lady Ok is leading man Cheon Seung-hwi played by Choo Young-woo (Oasis). A handsome storyteller who hides his face and travels around the country reciting tales, he falls in love with Lady Ok at first sight and would do anything for her.
In addition to our main couple, Yeonwoo (Bittersweet Hell) joins the cast as the passionate Cha Mi-ryeong. She works as an apprentice to Lady Ok, and like her mentor, she is equally caring and helpful. Their personalities, though, aren’t the only things they have in common since Mi-ryeong hides a secret, too.
Lastly, stepping into the role of the perfect young man Sung Do-gyum is Kim Jae-won (Hierarchy). From a young age, his sister-in-law Lady Ok took care of him, and as a result, he grew up respecting and relying on her.
In a period where status mattered more than personhood, The Life of Lady Ok tells the story of four individuals, each with something to conceal, who dreamt of a new world. As their fates collide and things out of their control threaten to unveil their ruse, they will have to make a choice.
Directed by PD Jin Hyuk (Sisyphus: The Myth, The Legend of the Blue Sea) with scripts penned by Park Ji-sook (Uncle), JTBC’s The Life of Lady Ok is slated for sixteen episodes and scheduled to premiere later this year.

Are we going to have a sageuk that takes place outside the palace? At least mostly? That could be interesting! Always excited to see Choo Young-woo in things also.

I am once again hoping THIS will be the chance to see life in this era with people of all classes living together in towns and villages.

I love saeguks so I'm just hoping for a good one and that they do not take too many liberties with the Lawyer angle (take it way out of context of Joseon times).
