I've only seen Jo Jung-seok in Hospital Playlist. I noticed him there. But here, I got to see him properly as an actor in his own right. We have people who ooze aura just by playing a character without having to force it. Jo Jung-seok effortlessly oozed aura off Lee In. And that is what shots him up into my list of excellent actors.

The writing is uneven at some points, but this one does well with cliffhangers.

The squee factor here is Jo Jung-seok and Lee In. For impressionable acting, look forward to Jo Jung-seok and Park Ye-young.

It might be just me but “oozing” evokes a gross sentiment in me. It is such an icky sounding word and one of the meanings comes to my mind ahead of the others.

If you are a fan of Jo Jung-suk or not yet, this drama is for you! He was really great as a King.

If you are fan of sageuk, go along your path, there are better written and directed sageuks.

I did enjoy this drama but really struggled with the inability of the entire court to see that Mingwoo was a woman, and a stunningly beautiful one at that. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. At times it was really irritating. I

As a fan of Jo Jung Suk, this is definitely worth the watch. He gives a fantastic performance as the wily, regretful king. Sadly, I think Shin Se Kyung was miscast as his co-star. Like others I didn't feel she was at all believable passing as man. Plus she doesn't match the intensity level of his performance.

"Plus she doesn't match the intensity level of his performance."

Wrong actress for the role. The drama would be as great as The Red Sleeve and My Dearest, if not for SSK.

Just watch the first episode and I can see already this will be a difficult watch with this FL. I did not like her in Run On so immediately I'm biased. Will hold my breath and watch for 2 more episodes because I do love JJS

JJS as the King was exactly that ... Captivating. (Full disclosure : JJs is among my favorite male actors. The dramas he played in remain among my favorite 10: Oh my ghostess, Jealousy Incarnate, Hospital Playlist). So, I was really hoping for this sageuk to be great. And He was great in it, but something was missing toward the second half/quarter of the drama. I am a lover of sageuk and I have seen a lot of them, and better ones. It was overall a good sageuk, I just wanted it to be great and I believe it had the potential to be. I would still recommend it to anyone who love sageuk (any type) and who likes JJS or would like to see his acting.
