Lee Jia serves as Queen of Divorce in new teaser

The first teaser has arrived for JTBC’s upcoming Queen of Divorce, where our dressed-to-impress Lee Jia (Pandora: Beneath the Paradise) makes her grand entrance with Kang Ki-young (The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch), here to solve the nation’s marital woes.

Having faced the ugly side of marriage and divorce firsthand, our impassioned Sara Kim (Lee Jia) dedicates herself to helping others to not become like her. Thankfully, though, her hard work – and swift kicks – at the divorce solutions company has been paying off and the teaser begins with the company’s success rate of 100%, promising us that they always have the perfect solution to tenaciously punish evil spouses with zeal.

But finding solutions and putting them into action isn’t a one person job and we’re next introduced to Sara’s business partner Dong Ki-joon (Kang Ki-young), the company’s legal advisor.

In the action-packed sequence, we also briefly see their feisty CEO Kim Sun-young (Queenmaker), who oversees our two leads along with fellow team members, Lee Tae-gu (Be My Dream Family) and Seo Hye-won (Alchemy of Souls).

Meeting with another client, Sara reveals the company’s mission that, “We want to save people whose marriage is a hell. That’s enough to make us move.” The teaser then comes to a close as the team rallies together to set out on their next case and Sara announces, “Let’s begin!”

Directed by PD Park Jin-seok (Sell Your Haunted House) with scripts by Jung Hee-sun, JTBC’s Queen of Divorce is slated to air in the Wednesday-Thursday slot, premiering later this month on January 31.

I am excited for Kang Ki-young's first lead role but with so many dramas and so little time, I am not sure if I will have enough time to check this out.

This looks worth the four episodes trial period. Not sure many of the shows on offer over the next couple of months will be for me so this may be a filler show to pad out an empty week. Looks like comedy is making a comeback with a few of the shows covering darker subject matter with a lighter touch.

Yay! Kang Ki-young as lead! 🫰 (Did he leave Hanbada for this new legal advisor position? 🤓)

I’m definitely going to watch this one, at least the teaser seems fun. Hopefully, this will keep up the comedy, instead of getting too dark along the way.

Looks like it will be on Netflix!

Any person who operates their company with swift kicks deserves kudos 👍 and at least an initial watch. 👀

Although tbh I want to see it for KKY in what I hope is not just an Atty Woo reprise.

So they are going to solve marriages like how one usually solves crimes? That’s the tone I’m getting…🤭

Well, as per dramaland rules, you have two options to “solve a marriage”:
1) Die > Slip back in time > Get revenge (and an adorable new partner with questionable fashion taste)
2) Pay this company

I’d go with #2, if I had to 😂

The phrase “If I had to” is doing a lot of work for you in that comment…can we help? 🥹

I know plenty of men with questionable fashion sense, for example….

LOL! Just saying I’m not so fond of the dying part in option #1, if I ever wanted to get revenge!

But no, I’m good. You may keep the wide legged trousered guys! 😂

I’m in favor of all of this except Lee Jia’s jorts in the pic fourth from the bottom. *shudder*

But seriously, very excited for KKY in a lead role! I too hope he is playing a different character from his Extraordinary Attorney one. He was lovely there, but he looks exactly the same in this, so I hope there is something to differentiate.

Have you at all been paying attention to Shin Hae-sun’s entire high-waisted-shorts-based wardrobe over on Samdal-ri? I keep wanting her to put on a belt…because I wouldn’t have been caught dead in those shorts without a belt in 1988 😆

***Patiently waiting to see the type of “solutions” they come upin this show to fix clearly toxic relationships, apart from “dissolution”***

Ugh this is a minefield, and this does not look good. What is this show about? Punishing cheating spouses? Divorce office? Spouse therapy? What the fresh hell it is?!

First word in my head after the teaser is Badass. Followed by Lee Jia! then Kang Ki-young pops up and the squee factor kicks in! This just has to be good.

What solutions are they planning? Beating the cheating spouse? getting more alimony for the aggrieved spouse through underhanded means? Saving the spouse from domestic abuse? This can be interesting or a hot mess.
