Ok going with a strict definition of watch show in entirety (with max use of FF button 10% or under roughly for entire show) = I've got 19 beans + 5 beans from currently airing shows I'm up to date with. So that's 24 beans all together. Now the split:

Unlock The Boss - gets 3 beans for CJH as bumbling but cute CEO
Crash Course In Romance - gets 2 beans for immortalising my 23' summer nostalgia (idk I watched it early this summer and every time I rewatch it's like I'm transported right back to the vibe of then)
Call it Love - gets 3 beans for making me cry (in a good way?) and all the pretty frames and angles
Destined With You - gets 2 beans for Rowoon, because I've not had this much fun fan-girling
Twinkling Watermelon - gets 2 beans for making me feel all warm and fuzzy about family

And all the remaining beans split between My Demon and Tail of The Nine Tailed 1989 - so 6 each - because I have been/I am capital O Obsessed with both of these shows. They're the winners of 2023 for me!!

I can’t believe how hard it was to divide the 18 completed dramas I had listed. Some are not on the above list which may be because of their format or where they were shown? Some I would love to have given a bean to distinguish them from the ones that were just time killers but not hate watched. However after much deliberating I feel happy with the division as I wanted to heap loads on to Twinkling Watermelon as that was the standout one for me.

Reading the list I realised that I have finally become ok with dropping dramas some of which won’t ever be picked up again and some were a timing thing and I feel confident will be returned to in the barren parts of the year.

My own personal rule is that I never take away beans from currently airing shows, because who knows how that will end up? But it's also rare that currently airing ones get extra beans... This year is my first time in the bean count ritual and when I first saw the post, I was very hesitant as I didn’t want to be ruthless to some shows I did watch. But seeing how you guys do it, I’ll do my part now, some shows will get the beans, and some shows will get the acknowledgement 😅

I managed to collect 12 beans this year and below are shows that get my potatoes beans:

🥔🥔 Our blooming youth - because of his Highness and his Scooby-Doo gang.
🥔🥔🥔🥔 Taxi driver 2 - because Kim Do Gi and his team brought a lot of heart to my 2023 <3.
🥔 Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3 - because I admire medical doctors in real life and this show managed to portray their struggle that sometimes they have to hide away in front of the patients in real life.
🥔 Moving - because of the healthy parent - child relationship and spouse relationship, and of how the show told the story of the antagonist side.
🥔 My dearest 1 - because of Nam Goong Min and Ahn Eun Jin.
🥔🥔🥔 The worst of evil - because of the bromance and because Wookie came back through that show.

This is my first time to participate and it is very fun and exciting! I watched 9 of these show and put the shows in order of my like and bean count.

Our Blooming Youth **** (I know this was not popular during live watch I think due to discordance between what was expected and what they saw. If you can binge watch and go in knowing that the romance is not the driver of the story and is barely expressed by the leads but deeply present and more of a mystery to solve it will be far more appealing.)

Moving*** (Super hero story with heart. Was a bit gory at times but the parental love and cute kids story was great. I thought it was a nice well contained story and don't necessarily see the need for a season 2 although if there are more interaction of the kiddos I can jump on the band wagon.)

Divorce Attorney Shin. * A nice family story without romance but it had a lot of heart. I also like how the ML was able to take down the baddies here and find a way to save his nephew.

Love to Hate You.* This was short and funny to me. Very bingeable and enjoyable enough to remember it without anything that really bothered me. Maybe this is a low bar for kdrama beans this year.

Didn't get beans and hard to rank:

Heartbeat (I was slow watching this so I knew the ending before I got there so it wasn't quite as much of a cliff fall as for others. I loved the comedy and the OTP interactions in the first 1/2 and those good vibes led me to pick it over the others.)

Destined with You (I discovered Rowoon and he is definitely an eye candy. The story was not the strongest but slightly better than the ones below. That probably doesn't say much.)

Crash Course in Romance (This noona story dragged for me and I didn't feel a lot for the OTP. The kids story was cute.)

See You in my 19th Life (This did not live up to the webtoon but there were some beautiful shots. The child actors were a gem and anytime they showed one of the other lives, it was really cool.)

Strong Girl Nam Soon (I should have just dropped it after the MinMin BongBong cameo. The story was not what it could have been.)

40 beans for me this year - which might surprise you until you realise dropping a drama is akin to chopping off a limb for me! But there were a LOT of turkeys in there. My beans are awarded to:
Twinkling Watermelon 8. It was no problem for me to turn a blind eye to the inconsistencies because the drama was joyous from start to finish. I loved its heart, and it had the best confession scene I have yet seen.
My Demon 7. It could all collapse, but I have faith in the writer! Just love their sense of the absurd and the very humanness of the characters. We have the best secretaries ever in a drama!
A Time Called You 6. Genuinely kept me pressing play all weekend. I loved the story, was impressed by the way the various timelines played out and came together, and thought Jeon Yeo-been was outstanding.
The Matchmakers 6. Beautiful and elegant, but also the story is great. I just have had so much fun watching a large cast all be paired up with the wrong people only to finally find the right people on their own. Genuinely entertaining. Rowoon found his niche!
Daily Dose of Sunshine 5. It was thought provoking and told really well. Had some quite profound things to say about mental illness and how we all have it to some degree or another. Roh Jae-won was outstanding as the patient convinced he was living in a computer game.
The Story of Park's Marriage Contract 4. Largely gets my beans for Bae In-hyuk whose dimples I have adored forever, but this is full of charm and I hope it lands well.
Behind Your Touch 2. Handled so well - it could have been purely awful, but it was far from it and kept me genuinely guessing about the murderer till the end. Good work show!
Taxi Driver 2 1. It was not a patch on S1, but it will always get a bean from me for a) the theme music and b) casting Shin Jae-ha.
Bloodhounds 1. Because it gave me a Woo Do-hwan-Lee Sang-yi combo and that was a fine thing.

End of the year was so much better than the beginning for me. Thanks, Beanies, for all your wonderful comments, insights and ideas this year!
