Drama viewership ratings for the week of Oct. 30 – Nov. 5, 2023

The Matchmakers has a nice premiere for KBS, but next week will give us a better sense of what size audience it will claim — and we can say the same for Moon in the Day, which didn’t do terribly for an ENA premiere, but is nowhere near what we’ve seen them capable of.

With baseball fiddling with the drama schedule again, we’re seeing some preemptions this week and next — but have no fear, My Dearest topped 11% with its single episode (and promise of possible extension). And, as expected, Castaway Diva saw a nice jump this week to 8%, and I daresay there’s room to grow from there. Finally, there’s our underdog MBN drama, which topped 2% in its second week, and here’s hoping this one rises as well in the coming weeks.

I almost dropped this after the 1st episode because I just can't stand a doormat FL! So, so glad I continued because she's a completely different character now and it's so much fun seeing how she'll outwit them. Plus, great chemistry between the leads doesn't hurt either!

Castaway Diva is definately hitting double digits within the next two weeks, it will be tvN's biggest hit since Crash Course in Romance.

Perfect Marriage revenge keeps inching upwards, i could definately see this becoming a future cult classic, like Scarlet Heart, Healer or Weighlifting Fairy

I wonder how they reckon at the end if the drama did well or not between the ratings and the different platforms like TVING, Netflix, WAVE, etc.

I am in love with Castaway Diva and am glad it's getting good ratings. A drama hasn't made me feel this much in a LONG time (Heartbeat came the closest). Here's hoping it doesn't hurt me in the end

It is with selfish glee that I am so super glad to see that PMR is getting low ratings. That means I'm going to keep enjoying it for a while!!

Me and SK. We don't have the same taste.

I was like "What?" until I got the last sentence of your comment. That's often the case with me as well. I'll be loving a drama and it'll have less than one percent ratings.

MY DEAREST is still doing well.

I expected CASTAWAY DIVA to become a hit and it looks like it will.

The Weekender continues to struggle.

Now it'll be something if MY DEAREST would beat the weekender on its final episode. I don't know whether to root for it or not.

MY DEAREST is a very high-quality show- while the weekender is only a quarter of the way through its run and its pieces are still coming together. It could happen.

Very rare since the Ajumma fanbase for weekenders has been the most loyal, even if the show is crappy.
Perhaps it's time for KBS to receive a wake-up call.

Perfect Marriage Revenge has to rise beyond this. I'm enjoying this more than My Dearest. I'm so sorry for cheating on MD before the final credits but...it is what it is.

Evilive needs more numbers. How can SK miss out on 3 likeable MLs in one drama.

You have to laugh at MBC’s ratings for Good Day to be a Dog after what they’ve done to the schedule. Gun, meet foot 🤦🏼‍♀️

Couldn't believe the number honestly...but with that terrible scheduling I'm not surprised...poor them 😭

Back in the day, Hollywood studios would sometimes release movies they knew were hopeless stinkers on Christmas Day or New Year's Day without much fanfare, just to get it over with. That way the failure got less attention than if the movie had been given the full publicity treatment and theater scheduling and then fell flat. I'm not saying Dog is bad - it's fine, and shows no signs of going sideways - just that MBC is treating it like something stuck to the bottom of their shoe. It's weird. And it finished filming months ago, so it's not like they're struggling to meet a live-shoot schedule.

I think it's odd especially because the webcomic was very popular. Maybe they're counting on a built-in audience

Wednesday-Thursday has been a dead zone for drama on Korean TV for some time now.

The one day a week slot seems like an experiment gone wrong; one of those corporate meeting spitballs that got a green light.

I don't know if webcomic fans are really into network television adaptations.

There is one upside to it - no one in their right mind would dare to blame those ratings on the cast like it's often done in such cases. Everyone and their dogs know who truly is the villain here!

This week is also canceled. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Boy Live your Own life is really up there in the ratings. Am still enjoying the show very much and the cast are great. FL is very frustrating and I was looking forward to her breaking away from the crippling family but so far she hasn't, although the cues are building up for that break.
