Reasons to watch: If the thought of lovesick Yang Se-jong makes you weak in the knees, you’re in the right place (and in good company). Netflix’s latest series Doona! takes a popular webtoon about a campus romance fraught with tension, and brings it to life with Yang Se-jong as the sucker-punched hero, and Suzy as the retired idol in his orbit. While I can’t quite decide if this will be a legitimately and emotionally complex story of two lovers — or if it’ll just be a fluffy angst-for-angst’s-sake affair — we have the PD from Crash Landing on You at the helm here, which has me saying all kinds of yes.

Doona will finish off my week as I like the story, but I don’t really like the female lead’s character for most of the story, so I am hoping the rest of the characters are played well. I also hope they keep the smoking element to the minimum as it’s getting boring watching so many dramas with smoking now.

Thanks for that alert that the episodes have dropped! I expected a lot at the start but hope they phase it out as we get further into the story.

Yuk, too much smoking all through Ep. 1. She must really reek if she making him lose jobs because she's blowing smoke all over him. Smoking is a deal breaker for me.
