Jeon Yeo-bin and Ahn Hyo-seob remember A Time Called You
by missvictrix
Flannel! Cassette tapes! A story of first love and loss! (Did they write this script just for me?) Netflix’s latest stills dump for the upcoming A Time Called You delivers all the feels. The drama is the much-anticipated Korean remake of the beloved Taiwanese drama Someday or One Day, and stars Jeon Yeo-bin (Glitch), Ahn Hyo-seop (Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3), and Kang Hoon (The Secret Romantic Guesthouse).
Our heroine Han Joon-hee (Jeon Yeo-bin) has been grieving the loss of her boyfriend Gu Yeon-joon (Ahn Hyo-seop), but a mysterious cassette tape promises her a second chance at happiness. The fantastical portion of our story kicks in here, and our heroine is transported back to 1998 where she is now the high school student Kwon Min-joo. In this past scenario, she encounters Nam Shi-heon (Ahn Hyo-seob) and his best friend Jung In-kyu (Kang Hoon), and it’s all crushes and hope and longing and second chances from there.
The latest stills appear to show us our characters in both timelines/universes, and it doesn’t take much more than this to get me excited. While I have no doubt in Ahn Hyo-seob’s ability to look fetching and grin swoonily from a distance, I’m most interested in seeing Jeon Yeo-bin in this role. She has so much gravitas onscreen that it almost feels as if the high school character will be too confining for her. Where will all that energy go? And as for Kang Hoon, it’s a joy to watch this boy’s career rise.
Directed by PD Kim Jin-won (My Country: The New Age), with scripts adapted by Choi Hyo-bi (Babysitter), A Time Called You drops its 12 episodes on September 8.

I think at this point I'll give up on trying to recognize Jeon Yeo-been. It took the set of pictures down the news to know it is her.
Anything for Kang Hoon. He has my attention, anytime.

Omg Kang Hoon is in this??? If the premise and the fact that this PD was also behind My Country hadn't already gotten my attention, this latest discovery certainly has. Looks like he's going to be the SML too? I'm ready to pine for him as he pines for the FL from afar 🥰

He is SML but his character (according to what I have watched so far) quite suits him.

It is Good, it is nuanced and got an edgy feeling to it. Good script and directional work. Definitely recommended.

@lapislazulii
When I'm interested in an adaptation I usually want to watch (or read) the source material if it's known for being very good. I don't know why... Maybe because I want to be thankful and give credit to the people who made it possible in the first place.
But as the Korean adaptation will be released in a few weeks, I understand people who want to be totally surprised by it.

Now that I have watched the first half of the original drama I'm so used to the song (Wu Bai Last Dance) which they listen to the casette, that I'm really curious about what could be the classic (90s) Korean song that they will use in this drama. I hope it gives lots of nostalgic vibes too.
I love this cast, specially Kang Hoon.

Perhaps we could get a post about this song from @db-staff ? 🙂
As a preparation for the drama?

OMG. The new trailer.
OST by New Jeans
Netflix is going all out on this one. I was worried that the remake would not match the original OST, but they enlisted New Jeans for the OST. I'm soooooo looking forward to this.
