One of the few good Kdramas of 2023. I give it a 9/10 and definitely recommend it.
However, on observing the comment reaction in recap section, before you enter the show please be aware that
1. The show completely revolves around the mom-daughter pair and does not dilvuge much into the lives of the male characters.
2. The theme is about single mom, mature kid and non blood family. The focus is not on romance, especially not between Soo Young and Sung Hoon
3. Murder mystery is present, but it does not snatch the entertainment factor away from the drama.
Lastly, the most important point to note is that the mom character is not your typical single mom who is level headed, traditional, avoids dating and solely focuses on her child. She has a life independent of her kid and is a cool woman who knows her parental and social responsibilities.

At the start I mentioned that most times I see a series that starts off trying to be 'edgy' within 3-4 episodes it usually settles down to being a good old-fashioned K-drama. That's what happened here. The squirm-inducing sex talk barely lasted more than an episode, then we got all the 'K-dramas stuff' that we watch K-dramas for. I could've done without the stalker-killer storyline but that applies to EVERY drama with that same stalker-killer storyline. Including currently running Lovely Liar. But K-dramas gotta be K-dramas.

second @emsel's comment. I love this drama too. It's an unexpectedly warm drama after the first week of over the top comedy.
Another warning is that some people may find the mom selfish and she definite is sometimes and she can be insensitive, but I don't think it makes her a terrible mother nor do I think it takes away from her being a character with thoughts, feelings, internal struggles, and love for her daughter and the family she had chosen.
Bring tissues. Each week, there is like at least one heartfelt moment that makes your heart ache and your eyes sting with tears.
Soo Young and Jeon Hye-jin are both incredible in it.

I quite liked it overall but I just couldn't warm up to "mom" even though both leads played their parts very well. I feel the overall relationship was solid and heartwarming.

I would say one of the dramas of the trend that are popular in SK, where not much happens and that ends going nowhere, it was a nice watch though, the necessary one year break of course happens in the end, while two men are waiting for them to comeback, also, how cool is your life that you can take one year to travel around the world all of a sudden, not thinking about keeping the job or paying bills, and this traveling thing just came out of nowhere tbh, I don’t really know if that soul searching travel was necessary in the end, Sunghoon I think the actor’s name was absolutely underutilized and I don’t know if we even know why he ended up demoted, I will give it 5 out of 10, watchable

Actually we did found out the reason behind his demotion. In ep 11, Taegyeong told Jinhee that the two officers who were transferred were actually accused of taking bribes and that Jaewon defended them that they didn't but instead of being grateful, both of them lied and told the Higher officials that it was Jaewon who told them to take bribes in the first place. As a result, Jaewon was supposed to be fired but then his police academy seniors interfered and protected him by demoting to the station.

I see, we should have, I just kind of half watched the later episodes, don’t even remember how the stalker story ended, haha

If you want a sometimes cute, sometimes annoying drama, with a codependent mother/daughter relationship in which there is little growth in their dynamic, this is the drama for you!
