  • It’s a bonanza of new promos kicking off this week, with script reading stills popping up left, right, and center. To start (in no specific order), MBC will be tugging at our heartstrings with the Joseon-era Lovers, starring Namgoong Min (One Dollar Lawyer), Ahn Eun-jin (The Good Bad Mother), Lee Hak-joo (Shadow Detective), and Lee Da-in (Alice). • A new poster has dropped for Disney+’s action sci-fi Moving, showcasing our young budding superheroes: Lee Jung-ha (Nevertheless), Kim Do-hoon (The Law Cafe), and Go Yoon-jung (Alchemy of Souls ). With a large star-studded cast, led by Ryu Seung-ryong (Kingdom), Han Hyo-joo (Happiness), and Jo In-sung (It’s Okay That’s Love), the 20-episode webtoon adaptation will be launching on August 9. I’m very interested in Namgoong Min and the writer of REBEL’S sageuk. I hope they’ll hire the same music director from REBEL. It was a work of fiction, but the music adds authentic feels to the whole show.

Yes, I always pay attention to the music, especially for saeguks. I loved the folk music in Rebel (there was also a good mix of modern and traditional music).

And I'll be interested in the reception of Moving since I read it from somewhere that Disney invested a very BIG budget on this project.

1) NGM posted pictures on his insta, and I'm really excited to see it!

2) Not sure about this one.

3) It looks like more American than Korean.

4) I didn't wach the first season. The cop who doesn't think before acting is not my favourite cliché.

5) LSY in a main role!

6) I really like the pairing of HJM and LMK!

1 - all is nice here, except the title. Why so generic, show?
2 - cast is good, but theme and that writer...
3 - wow, great, MOAR superhero stuff from the damned Mouse no one asked for... Cast is impressive tho.

몇 살이에요 (myossarieyo?) I don't really speak Korean, but this expression is certainly one that you learn watching KDramas – "What is your age?"

I wonder how Koreans really handle their new (Western) way of counting one's age, that is, you now age (by one year) on your birthday, not on Jan 1st. You used to be the same age with anyone who was born in the same year as you (so you could use banmal with them). Now, that's not enough; you have to know the month and day, too – possibly even the time of day of your birth. How else can you know whether somebody is older or younger than you? And, consequently, which level of speech you should use?
