Jung Woo and Bae Hyun-sung become JTBC’s Miracle Brothers
by tccolb
JTBC has released their first promo stills for the new mystery-fantasy Miracle Brothers, giving us a quick peek at our two main leads: Jung Woo (Mental Coach Jegal) and Bae Hyun-sung (Gaus Electronics).
In a mysterious but heartwarming tale about friendship, Jung Woo takes on the role of our struggling hero Yook Dong-joo. His father had named him after the great 20th century poet Yoon Dong-joo, whom he admired, and our story’s Dong-joo aspires to follow in his namesake’s footsteps.
But life has not been kind thus far and Dong-joo has failed to debut any of his novels, despite trying his best for the last seven years. As such, he works an array of part-time jobs to pay the bills – in addition to the debt accumulated by his troublemaker mom.
The last thing Dong-joo needs is another responsibility and this, of course, is when we meet Kang San – played by Bae Hyun-sung – who gets put in Dong-joo’s care. Following an unfortunate turn of events, San loses all memory – including his own identity – and he’s unsure how or when he gained his special abilities. Almost like being telepathic, San can feel the pain and desperation of others in his own body, and is compassionate to the pleas of their hearts. Unable to turn a blind eye to injustice, San is quick to jump in and help – which then forces Dong-joo to also get involved.
In supportive roles, the drama also stars Park Yu-rim (Extraordinary Attorney Woo), Lee Ki-woo (Agency), Oh Man-seok (The Secret Romantic Guesthouse), and Jo Bok-rae (Agency).
On the production side, the team will be headed by the creators of Wonderful World, PD Park Chan-hong and writer Kim Ji-woo. Having had a long history (24 years!) of working together, this new series marks their eleventh collaboration.
Following The Good Bad Mother in the Wednesday-Thursday slot, JTBC’s Miracle Brothers premieres next month on June 28.

Jung Woo was fantastic in Mad for Each Other. Is his character here supposed to be 7 years out of college? Adjust the story to fit his actual age, please, screenwriter. It is unfair and unrealistic to make a 42 year old actor play a 30-31 year old.

This looks like it could be good, adds cautiously to the watchlist. Awaits further plot info, prepares for genre add on that leads to removal from said watchlist.
