Drama viewership ratings for the week of Mar. 6-12, 2023

Oasis lands a nice debut — along with Pandora in the weekend slot — but things are all askew this weekend with baseball preemptions. Still, the dramas that are riding high continue to do so, and the ones that are floundering continue to flounder. Divorce Attorney Shin has a nice second week, and I can’t wait to see what happens with Pandora next week.

The ratings uptick for Pandora is not suprising at all, the drama went full on makjang within its first episode.

It had everything from Amnesia, plastic surgery, an extramarital affair, a shady best friend, a sinister chaebol family and a missing sibling.

That's in addition to an evil doctor, a monkey that can play videogames, an assassinated president, the female lead knowing Kung-fu and inexplicably taking down men who are twice her size.

Kim Soon-ok truly is the Shakespeare of modern makjang

Makjang can be really fun, which is why it tends to be so popular.

O.O

All of that in the first episode? Now I have to check it out.

And if I end up getting sucked in, it'll be your fault.

My best description of THREE BOLD SIBLINGS is that it has continued to miss the mark. This weekend's episodes had some good moments but also has me actively starting to dislike the ML. It is finishing with decent but not great ratings for a weekender, and I will watch the final episode but in many ways this show has been a disappointment. Still, watching Mooyoung punch out Soorim's scheming Ex at the end of episode 49 was satisfying.

DIVORCE ATTORNEY SHIN is not a perfect show, but I have actually enjoyed it.

I was thinking the ML needs someone to slap some sense into him as he is going all out being ridiculous. We get that ML is hurt and disappointed but seriously why ruin his junior’s attempt to get his firm film produced because of the ML’s selfish attempt to hurt the innocent. Like the cousin will care about the film.

Mon/Tue is interesting. We have the two Os being historical dramas with Jang Dong-yoon going up against Park Hyung-sik. Both are favorites of mine and I like what I have seen so far of JDY in OASIS and PHS in OUR BLOOMING YOUTH.
After ten episodes OBY apparently has found its audience in the 3-4 percent range.
I am really interested to see the ratings numbers this week for episodes 3 and 4 of OASIS. The story took a pivot at the end of episode 2 and if the story lightens up a bit perhaps some folks who were hesitant to commit may come onboard.
