[Drama chat] Your drama watch list

I used to be far more organized about my drama watch list — for shame! That highly organized document has long fallen into disrepair and become a series of messy mental notes instead. But chaotic though it is, I still have my drama watch list, and it still evolves on a weekly basis, I’d say.

The best thing about a watch list is that you get to pick what you watch with more curation in mind. So, rather than be at the mercy of a fluffy rom-com that transmogrified into another harrowing tale of trauma, you can choose that healing drama long on your list with the confidence that it actually is a healing drama. In other words, you can pick what you’re in the mood for, and dive in head first.

As noted, watch lists are forever-morphing beasts, but here are some of the dramas currently at the top of my list:

  • Lookout: Been meaning to watch this drama for literal years, but now that I’m high on Kim Young-kwang in Call it Love, it might just have done some space-swapping and gotten to the top.
  • Unlock the Boss: For when I want something fun and cute with good vibes.
  • Good Job: Still don’t know how I missed this one seeing as I’m a huge Jung Il-woo fan, but I’m saving it for a rainy day when I want to giggle and swoon, not necessarily in that order.
  • Shut Up: Flower Boy Band: This one is a rewatch that is begging to happen, and has been begging so loud that it worked its way up the list again.

What’s at the top of your drama watch list right now?

I'm in the mood for My Liberation Notes and You Are My Spring thanks to Call It Love.
A watchlist I'm clearly waiting for is to rewatch Call It Love? from the beginning once I've watched the finale episodes.

And then Conspiracy in the Court. Just 8 episodes. This one is high on my radar.

MrX's (WITH S2) subs would be the best for "Conspiracy in the Court." The commentaries helps a lot.

MrX's subtitles are classic! Chuno and Conspiracy in the Court are already masterpieces, and great subtitles make them nothing short of brilliant. Didn't MrX also work on Eight Days? Ah, how I miss these older sageuks with WITH S2 subtitles...

And oh so colorful. 😆
To be honest, I didn't always love his subs because I had to use a dictionary in order to understand it.😢 English is not my native language, so it was challenging for me when he goes into old English, Shakespeare territory. But, no one was more knowledgeable in K-history than X. It was wonderful to have him around.

Yes, he did the subs for"Eight Days" IIRC.
I'm trying to find the last few episodes for "Eye of Dawn." Someone gave me a link before but it didn't work for me.

English is not my native language too. I had to stop and look up some words. But now, thanks to MrX I know some cool English words like "pate," "vim," and "prattle."

3

And "slattern" too!

3

Knave, was the most common. Every time I hear it in “Pirates of the Caribbean” I remember MrX. 😂

1

What happened to MrX?

0

I don’t know.😞 He hasn’t post anything on his website for years.
He was here when “The Royal Gambler” came out and that was the last time.

I had to look up what WITH S2 was. It's not still going on, is it? I am very amused by your discussion of a translator whose English is super fancy. I am frequently distracted by the problem of how people ought to translate certain ideas. (Sometimes I'm actually distracted from my fascination with translation issues by the dramas.)

Healer has been at the top of my list for years, but I never end up watching it. I don't know why. Most people here love it, I think I'll enjoy it, but I feel too lazy when the time comes to press play, I always end up rewatching a drama I love or starting another drama. I don't understand myself 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Don’t give up on Healer! It took me two tries to get into it, and it ended up on my all-time favorites list.

Sometimes you just need to wait to be in the right mood for a particular show or genre. In the meantime, I sometimes fall back on a familiar favorite; I just finished Master’s Sun for the second time. Like so many K-dramas, I found it lost steam a bit in the second half, but it was so worth watching for So Ji-sub, Kong Hyo-Jin, and the coffee and garbage-can ghosts!

"Unlock the Boss: For when I want something fun and cute with good vibes".

That's what I thought this series was going to offer, however it is quite dark. I wish it was funnier, but it's more about companies intrigues.

Love this topic. I keep a list of dramas that are available to me on various streaming services with loads of info about each one. It can be difficult to keep up with completely (especially as it's not always obvious when platforms add and take away dramas) but it's honestly pretty solid at this point.

I've been trying to educate myself about some "classic" (talking 2010s here, so not actually classic, but well-loved) kdramas lately - ones that people bring up and reference a lot in conversation about and comparison to current dramas. But I also like to switch things up genre-wise, so I have these "classics" split up so that I can sample from different categories as I go through the list. Pretty high on the list right now are My Love from the Star, Healer, Misaeng, and Forest of Secrets. But I get derailed often because I'll watch something and get obsessed with an actor, so probably all of these won't happen in exactly this order. It's tough to find time to watch older things in the rush of new stuff coming out!

I just realized that I'm the odd one, here, lol. When I think "watch list," I think of dramas that have already seen (Watched List). But when others think of "watch list," they think of dramas they want to see (To Be Watched List).

I have a full list of dramas I've seen, cataloged on my username .com site, but the To Be Watched list lives in my head with various levels of success remembering to actually watch!

I do want to do another rewatch of Goong, which is my favorite old kdrama style, high school drama. When life gets busy, it's the perfect show to get my mind off things. ("Busy" and "24 episodes" don't really go together, but it works in the kdrama third dimension where time moves differently!)

Goong! Every time I remember that the ML and the SFL most probably did it (it was implied, right?) in that hotel room when they were abroad while the FL was waiting for him at home missing him... It makes me feel nauseous, it's such a pity! Because the enemies to lovers trope is one I enjoy, and that kind of ruins the drama for me. It should have happened earlier on.

Yes, I use My Drama List too to track what I've watched/am watching, but I've never actually used the "plan to watch" feature. I tend to be rather impulsive about what I watch and when, so planning ahead doesn't really work for me.

I use the Plan To Watch list so I don't forget about dramas I want to watch. I get Kdrama (and sometimes Cdrama and Jdrama) ideas from the articles and comments here, and Cdrama ideas from AvenueX and Marcus Here. I also use the notes section on MDL to make notes on why I drop a drama, whether or not I think I'll ever rewatch it, and any aspects that I especially liked or disliked.

I also have a spreadsheet where I make notes about which dramas are available on Viki (so I'll know which ones I have to download to watch), and for some Cdramas I have links to the translated novels.

And I thought my 190 dramas-to-watch list was unmanageable! XD

Apart from My drama list, I use Pinterest to create sub-boards for the dramas I have watched and another sub-board for the ones I want to watch.

Netflix and Viki have the option of adding dramas to a "memo list" too.

Most of the dramas on my List are dramas I've watched. I just rewatched What's Wrong With Secretary Kim again, still a lovely story.

Hotel Del Luna.
The Hong sisters are infamous for great ideas and terrible execution, i like the cast bu apprehensive about watching, its been on my watch list forever.

Prison Playbook
This is another one i have been putting off for years, I have no idea why though ill eventually get to it.

Misty.
JTBC is great at producing glossed up makjang dramas with acclaimed veteran actors, i still need to watch this.

MISTY is great drama (and the FL has a fabulous wardrobe). It has a powerful impact- I have to respect the talents of an actress who does such a great job of acting that I end up with visceral hatred for her character.

HOTEL DEL LUNA is a remarkable masterpiece and well worth watching. Your fears about the script are in fact quite justified- as written HOTEL DEL LUNA would have been a disappointment. Superb direction and truly outstanding performances by the lead actors as well as the more minor ones turned that script into a remarkable drama, one of the best of that year. It was truly the triumph of art over script.

I love to research, so when I started K-dramas I built a watchlist based on shows that I found recommended by writers/reviewers over and over again. What is frustrating, is many of these dramas are not available on legit streaming sites and since there are so many other dramas that are watchable they remain on the list unwatched. Just a few weeks ago I finished (and loved) Secret Love Affair. I looked for other Yoo Ah-in works and found that he was in Jumong which has been on my watchlist for years---and I couldn't find it available anywhere (legal). That is true for many of my watchlist dramas including Scarlet Heart Ryeo and Six Flying Dragons. That is the most frustrating thing about watch lists is that they tend to be older dramas which are hard to find. Then if it is a newer drama that I add to the list, I worry that I won't get to it in time. I wish my drama watch list was more detailed though---I only put the title down and have no idea what the drama is about after doing all that research!

The file has a tab with the watched dramas with the list of tropes, a tab for each of us to calculate a note, a tab to count how many times we have seen someone and how much we like this actor/actress.
Can you tell that mu friend and me are Excel geek ? I practice cross-reference formula and conditionnal formating on this file.
We'd like to highlight a drama depending on our appreciation of the leads, but the names are not always fully written in the "next dramas" tab so the formula won't work.
The reviews are the only thing missing (but there is enough data to write them).

K-dramas that have been on my "plan to watch" list for ages (well, since I entered K-dramaland, a year and a half ago) and I really don't know when I will watch them:

_ True Beauty.
_ All the Reply series.
_ Are you human too?
_ Healer.
_ Do you like Brahms?
_ Fight for my way.
_ Goblin.
_ Descendants of the sun.
_ I'm not a robot.
_ Romance is a bonus book.
_ The smile has left your eyes.

There are many other dramas in the list (old and modern) but I have added them more recently.

Yesterday I started Extraordinary Attorney Woo. I'm not very into legal dramas, but my husband chose this time. We watched two episodes. It's a bit uncomfortable to listen because it seems to me that all the actors are dubbed (dubbed by themselves). The voices don't sound very natural.

3

I've watched most of those.

I couldn't get into Are you Human too, and then made the mistake of reading recaps, so I didn't finish it.

I really enjoyed True Beauty and Fight for my way.
Have watched Healer several times and still enjoy it.

Goblin, while not perfect, is one I return to regularly as well. It's not perfect, but I love it.

Do you like Brahms? was understated, but beautiful.

I have already watched the first episode of True Beauty and I have not liked it... but I can't say exactly why. Maybe it's a combination of several things (characters, humour, pastel colors cinematography)... But I'll keep watching it. Sometimes it takes me some episodes to warm up with dramas.

3

Goblin is now listed on Viki as GUARDIAN: THE GREAT AND LONELY GOD. I name change that I find to be inexcusable. But that aside it is nothing short of a masterpiece.

I have watched most of these and they are all good.

That said I would note that TRUE BEAUTY is a pale imitation of the even better MY ID IS GANGNAM BEAUTY which was actually much deeper dramatically.

Talking about campus drama, one I really loved was At a distance, spring is green :)

My watch list is a rewatch list, this is just a subset:

My Ahjusshi - for the mood and catharsis
I'm Sorry I Love You - crack melo
Nice Guy - fun melo
Ruler of Your Own World - where even the unlikable people are likable (except that jerk dad)
The Great Show - I'm a sucker for found families (several adoptions among my friends and relatives)
Wild Romance - fun pairing, including the second couple (should have mentioned that in the side couple thread)
Thank You - lot of great child performances in kdrama (and some hilariously bad ones) but this one is my favorite
Forest of Secrets - great scooby gang, perfectly strung together plot and unwavering tempo from beginning to end
Healer - it just feels good

I also have a rewatch-if-I-could-find-it-again list, which includes City Hunter, Heart 2 Heart, and Smile, You.

Human Disqualification is one of the best dramas I’ve ever watched and I’m on about 60 watched and counting. It reminded me of My Mister in some ways.

I recently started a very long drama, so I don't have a list topper but rather a jumbled list of shows that look interesting. I'm in a bit of a non-committal mode to viewing due to life events, but there seems to be a slew of promising upcoming shows this spring.

Nope. Never. It just doesn't work no matter how much I try. I may think of particular drama for ages - and never watch it anyway or just suddenly feel the urge to pick up something I've never considered before and start it immediately. Don't even let me start about my serial dropper habit... So what's the point of having a list?

I have a watchlist as long as my arm, based almost entirely on beanie recommendations and organized (in my Notes app) by streaming platform or lack of one. I'm also willing to go darkside for things that aren't legally available in my region. I pick whatever matches my mood and doesn't feature a lead actor who's in something else I'm currently watching. I also need to alternate heavy stuff with comedy or romance. At or near the top of the list now:

Forest of Secrets/Stranger 1 & 2
Psychopath Diary
Zombie Detective
Into the Ring
Shut Up Flower Boy Band
Semantic Error
My Ahjussi
Queen In-hyun's Man
Happiness (waiting for my husband to have time and Our Blooming Youth to be over)
Through the Darkness (I keep saying I'm about to start this, but its mood keeps not matching mine in the moment)

Good grief, I just did a rough count and have 65 dramas on my list of possibilities! And that's not including upcoming shows, movies, variety, and drama specials. Obviously I need to quit my day job so I can watch TV full-time.

If you aren't in the mood for romance, I have a mini-list of shows I liked which either have no romance or are very light in the romance department. The series Missaeng, the very popular series about an intern at a corporation, has almost no focus on romance, and the same is true of Black Dog, which was about a new teacher. I saw both of those on Netflix. I also just watched Chief Kim (called Good Manager on Viki) and it also had a minimal amount of romance, strictly in the background.

I have a table with all dramas that I might watch, and a few that I know I wont. Recently I have not added much... but the list is already quite long.
The notes change according to reviews, and also depending on the desire to see one actor.
There is a note for me, a note for my friend and the product determine what we will watch together.

So on my list the top 3 are One spring night, Confession and Chicago typewriter.
But the dramas I'll watch are probably Jealousy incarnate, Sell your haunted house and Memorist since I watch more in duo than on my own. And I have to confess that I do not strictly follow the list... some drama are propelled directly at the top when they air (Alchemy of souls, Taxi driver 2...)

Hi i'm here to say YES to all 3 of those. If it was me I would watch Gogh first -- quick and light -- then the heavy MLN, and then Secret Life to wash it all down

Ha! By coincidence, I just watched Gogh - as in, I just finished it about 10 minutes ago. It's cute, lighthearted fun for most of its brief length but it does take a couple of deep dives into painful stupidity in episodes 15-17. [Minor spoiler below] Luckily the episodes are so short at <20 minutes that you can just buzz through those parts. I hope you enjoy it!

[Spoiler, but not much of one]
There's too much time spent with a deliberately gross and unappealing side character, and then the four guys who are interested in the FL start a formal competition to see who should ask her out, complete with scorekeeping on an office whiteboard, despite her having unequivocally told three of them she's not interested.

Good lord 🤣 thank you for the heads up and for sharing your thoughts!! I shall keep the mouse on the trusty froward button for those episodes (a score board though wow 😭😂). I shall report back post watch!

The score board sequence was... I don't know what to say XD

3

Goho's starry night is very easy to watch. Nothing special, I didn't like the FL but the drama is funny and uncomplicated.
Pd: Love Shin Jae Ha's smile.

I’ve kinda fell into a kdrama slump. I’ve watched the first two episodes of CALL
IT LOVE but other than that I’m not interested in any of the current kdrama offerings.

I’ll get to DECOY and TAXI DRIVER 2 when I’m back into my thriller mood. The three dramas that I know I’ll enjoy but for some weird reason I keep putting off are:
BE MELODRAMATIC
AT EIGHTEEN
MR. SUNSHINE

Similarly, with anime I know I’ll enjoy:
DEMON SLAYER
Literally watched the premiere of season 3 with my friends at the theatre and yet I haven’t managed to finish season 1??? I don’t understand myself sometimes…

FRUITS BASKET S1-S3
A pivotal anime and manga during my adolescence. Part of me doesn’t want my childhood to be ruined but still the fact that my favourite manga has a completed anime adaptation is a miracle!

Korean books I bought to read but haven’t got to yet:
Pachinko by Min Jin Lee
If I Had Your Face by Frances Cha
I Want To Die But I Want To Eat Tteokbokki by Baek Se-hee

Suffice it to say I’ve got enough on my plate and yet I remain dissatisfied bitch…

Thanks for this, I just downloaded the book If I had your face. I really enjoyed Panchinko as an audiobook but was disappointed with the cutting up and running parallel version of the drama because it now means some people won’t see it through the various seasons to enjoy the amazing story.

Yes I’ve heard the drama adaptation is not as good as the book, so thanks for giving me the motivation to read it! Do you have a Goodreads or StoryGraph account? I’d love to follow you!

No, unfortunately I rarely read books now as I listen on Audible. Do I need an account to follow you? If not let me know the details, just respond to my last post on my fan wall and I will follow you as sounds like you have some books or potential webtoons that may be of interest to me!

I read the book BEFORE watching the drama. I agree that the kdrama version is extremely "cut up" which made it difficult to follow. It seems the producers/writers really tried to add to the modern plot.

I read Pachinko! My aunt recommended it. My GoodReads review was incredibly bland. I said it was very successful at striking the balance between character development and sharing historical details. Sorry, that's not much! I am reserving the other two you mention at the library. The Korean book that I am recommending to everyone is the thriller called The Plotters by Kim Un-su. It would make an amazing movie. My partner has a set of the Library of Korean Literature in English translation, which is pretty great.

Oh thanks for these will see which I can find on Audible. I can’t do thrillers so will have to let that one go. I love that while reading/listening to books I can see which of them would be great as a drama or film.

Kim Un-su has another book in translation called The Cabinet but it ends excruciatingly and violently. I read that one first because it was in a Little Free Library near my house, and even though I usually don't like a book with a sad ending, I went looking to find more of the author. I usually avoid this type of thing, but The Plotters had many emotional moments--very surprising in this genre.

The literary fiction in the Library of Korean Literature that I mentioned can be VERY dark, OMG. My partner bought it and his ongoing interest in Korean culture is more on the experimental music, lit fic, poems about death end of things. It's good for me, I think, to stretch my brain and read things that are a little difficult in some way. Since all this media consumption is to escape from examining more difficult things anyway.

Thanks for the info re the content being dark. I found the book collection on Amazon and was going to look into the stories but now know to stay away as I don’t like that genre. Real life is dark enough when you work in mental health/social work field, as I do so entertainment for me is about contrast in the glossy make believe world of the beautiful people. I do like the slice of life genre but Dear my friends style is the heaviest content I can take.

2

Thank you so much for mentioning the book: If I had your face - it is absolutely superb, I can not believe it’s a debut. Harrowing stories of the 4 women’s experiences powerfully told. I will finish it in one day I have to know how it will end. This is one that could be a film or better yet a mini 3 or 4 episode drama.

That’s good to know! I confess I’m not much of a reader, especially compared to my sister who reads and listens to around 50-100 books a year, my measly goal of 12 is nothing 😅
Still I enjoy reading your audiobook reviews and while I don’t think I can get to so many books like you, I’ve added a few to my TBR.

The Three Mothers by Anna Malaika Tubbs & Diary of a Void by Emi Yagi seem very interning so thank you for your reviews and recommendations!

Oh wow your sister sounds like she is me when I was younger. I loved to read and would devour books, like I binge watch k dramas now, until the early hours. I loved listening to the books serialised on BBC radio 4 and I discovered audiobooks. I gradually moved away from reading to listening as my eye sight and concentration deteriorates. I listen to a lot of non fiction books too. The psychology of money by Morgan Housel is my current listen which is fascinating after all the books about the Financial Independence Retire Early (FIRE) movement I have read over the years.

I expect if you are not reading you are doing other things that bring you joy instead😊

Really enjoy this topic!

--Some background....
Like our fellow-beanie Unaspirated, I have a lists for "To Watch" and "Watched" and "Dropped" on excel. I also use my profile on this site to list my completed watches.

I heavily rely on the "3Rs"--recommendations, ratings & reviews--thank you Dramabeanies!--so I constantly shuffle my priorities.

I have learned that following an "oppa" or "unnie" is NOT the best way to find a new drama for my "Watch" list.

Access without a VPN limits me to USA offerings on Netflix, VIKI, Amazon Prime and Youtube (Cereal). Does a VPN really work--what is your experience?

I do like watching at least one current drama because its so fun to follow the media buzz--right now, I'm enjoying Oasis. It was fun to see "Squidgame" while it was in the global spotlight.

So, on to the topic.....
-- To Watch...

Nirvana in Fire, Love Like the Galaxy (I know, they're C-dramas) and Empress Ki: I keep meaning to watch these but the sheer number of episodes is intimidating. To change my bias on length, I'm currently watching my first LONG drama, A Jewel in the Palace, and I've made it to #38 and still watching! I began adding sageuks after see "The Red Sleeve Cuff."

Signal, Stranger: are highly rated but I just don't seem to get around to them--not my favorite genre.

Bridal Mask, Six Flying Dragons, 18 Again, Chicago Typewriter: Unfortunately, VIKI pulled these for my area. Same goes for Amazon Prime--lots of dramas just not offered in my area. Same question: Is it worth it to get a VPN?

Human Disqualification--unavailable...

Full House, You Are Beautiful, City Hall, Dream High, The Producers, Padam Padam, Hwarang. I keep watching "classics" and older dramas based on recommendations.

Alchemy of Souls--love the leads but I'm not big on fantasy, especially after seeing Bride of Haebek (don't recommend)

Jdramas--I have yet to watch one. Any recommendations? Thinking of First Love on Netflix.

"Coming soon" dramas that top my list: Bo Ra Deborah!, Gyeongsang Creature, DP2, Pachinko2.

--Watched List
DO NOT MISS Kdramas includes: My Mister, Reply 1988, Miseang: An Incomplete Life, Hospital Playlist.

Favorite romances include: Crash Landing on You, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?, Descendants of the Sun, Weightlifting Fairy, Healer, Queen In-Hyun's Man, Rain or Shine/Just Between Lovers

Japanese dramas I have watched and enjoyed.
First Love, Silent, Why I dress up for love are all great love stories.

Sleeeper hit the original drama that Today’s Webtoon built on, The full time wife escapist is about a contract marriage.
He’s expecting shows what happens when some men have the ability to get pregnant.

Don't judge other fantasy dramas by BRIDE OF HAEBEK, which I dropped after one episode.

Jdramas: MISCHEIVOUS KISS - LOVE IN TOKYO stands as the very best version of the story from the manga Itazzura Na Kissu (which has been dramatized at least 6 times in more than one country, it is the manga equivalent of Pride and Prejudice). It is deceptively silly on its surface but if you keep watching you would be surprised at the depths of the story.

I loved Love like the galaxy, though it is a slow burn romance. But there is enough little stories on the side to fill the time.
I'm in pause at ep 20 of Emperess Ki. The emperor is too childish, and gets on my nerves.
I have not seen Bride of Haebek (and won't) so I have no idea how it compares, but Alchemy of souls is very good. It helps to like sarcasm and bickering.

Stranger / Forest of Secrets is DENSE. Very good, but you have to pay attention. In comparison, Signal is an easier watch, and I loved it, whereas I seem to have hit a roadblock on the second episode of Stranger 2.

Alchemy of Souls is a LOT of fun! As OldLawyer said, please don't judge the whole genre based on Bride of Haebek.

I do not have a Watch List per se. I do watch out for certain actors' projects or go back into their past films or series (which can be difficult to access).

I never (always) have something at the top of my watchlist. I change my mind every two seconds.
Like a month ago I was watching The World of the Married so Temptation of Wife was on the top of my watchlist and I even downloaded a few episodes, but this is the day and I haven't finished TWOTM and I haven't watched one episode of TOW.

I haven't watch dramas for a few weeks so the new dramas like Call It Love, Oasis, Secret RG are on the top of my watchlist, but who knows I'll probably rewatch Our Dating Sim instead or ask my friend to continue Flower of Evil with me. Some dramas have been on my watchlist for a decade and I still don't know if I'll ever watch them LOL.

So my watchlist is random, or more like horizontal, nothing on the top.

I love the way you describe your list being horizontal because mine is the same! I always say things like, “I’ll watch that next!” or “I’m moving that to the top of my list!”, but in reality, what I watch even on a daily basis depends on my mental and emotional state, as well as my current life circumstances. I use kdramas as a way to nourish myself, so for me, it’s like deciding what to eat each day and I have always been bad at sticking to a meal plan!😁

BECAUSE THIS IS MY FIRST LIFE is a true masterpiece. The first 14 episodes were written with the depth and wit to match the best of Shakespeare. Sadly, the last two episodes were sub par but I still recommend this show to anyone who has not watched it. I am glad that you appreciate its messages- because they are many.

The fact that you so appreciate BECAUSE THIS LIFE IS MY FIRST actually proves that you do not have mediocre taste because it truly is a classic K-drama, just as you said. What you do have is simply a taste for romcoms that stems from your life situation. We all have that. I prefer comedies, fantasies, romcoms and family weekenders because I have to deal with nasty, tragic or beaten down people in my professional life. I certainly do not need to see them on the screen as well, which is why I rarely watch police procedurals or melos.

I think you are either a rewatcher, or you're not.
I'm a rewatcher. I enjoy rewatching some shows even more than watching a new one. There are show I have rewatched hundreds of times.
In past years I would even rewatch a show I didn't enjoy much the first time around just because. Nowadays life is too busy for that, but rewatching loved shows is going as strong as ever.

Same here. I often think I should be watching something new, or reading a book, instead of watching that show for the umpteenth time. It's not just kdramas, I still watch for example Orphan Black and The Sarah Connor Chronicles beginning to end. At least with kdramas I have the rationale I understand more of the Korean this time around.

But there are some shows I left off my rewatch list because I've watched them so much I may have hit my limit, like Coffee Prince, maybe my all time favorite, but haven't rewatched it in a while.

I think you are right. I'm not a rewatcher, the same way I rarely re-read a book. When I was a child I used to watch my favorite movies over and over again (VHS tapes XD), but being an adult I prefer watching new things. Lord of the rings trilogy, classic Star Wars trilogy, Ghibli movies and some Disney classics are the only movies I rewatch (once in a blue moon).

The only k-drama I have fully rewatched is Live Up to your name.
