Song Hye-gyo vows vengeance in The Glory Part 2
by solstices
The eagerly-anticipated second half of Netflix’s revenge thriller The Glory is finally drawing near, and a gripping teaser is ready to immerse viewers back into the bleak world of our vengeful heroine Moon Dong-eun. Played by Song Hye-gyo (Now, We Are Breaking Up), Dong-eun is finally ready to cast off the shackles of her battered past and give her assailants a taste of their own medicine.
And for good reason, too. Im Ji-yeon (Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area), the ringleader of Dong-eun’s suffering, isn’t the least bit repentful. Playing the haughty newscaster Park Yeon-jin, she sneers in Dong-eun’s face that her life has been awful since birth — conveniently overlooking her own contribution in making Dong-eun’s adolescence a living hell.
But Dong-eun isn’t cowed, and Yeon-jin’s squad of bullies is already starting to fray at the seams. There’s the shivering, relapsing druggie Kim Hieora (Bad Prosecutor); the wary and skittish Cha Joo-young (Again My Life); as well as the perturbed Park Sung-hoon (The Distributors). And then there’s the smug Kim Gun-woo (Let’s Meet in an Unfamiliar Season), who proclaims his innocence to Dong-eun over the phone.
In this tale, though, is anyone ever innocent? The cocky Sohn Myung-oh (Kim Gun-woo) goes down with a brutal blow to the back of his head, and Dong-eun’s revenge plan marches forward. Aided by the enigmatic plastic surgeon Joo Yeo-jung, played by Lee Do-hyun (Melancholia), Dong-eun finally sets her dormant ploys in motion.
To Dong-eun, he’s her co-conspirator. To Yeo-jung, she’s his salvation. He’s ready to risk it all for her, even if it means embracing insanity. And there’s certainly enough of that to go around — Dong-eun bares her teeth in a sinister grin, Yeon-jin’s lips curve upwards in manic incredulity, and crazed laughter spills forth from Jeon Jae-joon (Park Sung-hoon) amidst a torrential downpour.
The drama’s second half won’t be pulling any punches, if that brief glimpse of the bruised housekeeper Yeom Hye-ran (Juvenile Justice) is any indication. Emotions are running at their highest — Yeon-jin’s even-keeled husband Jung Sung-il (Our Blues) lashes out at her in a moment of uncharacteristic rage — and conflicts are coming to a head. We also get a glimpse of key supporting characters, namely Yeon-jin’s mother Yoon Da-kyung (Work Later, Drink Now 2) and Yeo-jung’s mother Kim Jung-young (Anna).
As the teaser draws to a close with a haunting montage, our characters are plunged into the throes of despair. Jae-joon floors it in the driver’s seat with a frustrated yell, Dong-eun wails over a plan gone awry, and Yeon-jin hurls her bag in a fit of fury. Yeo-jung spills desperate tears, while Lee Sa-ra (the versatile Kim Hieora) debuts shockingly blonde locks — has she brazenly reinvented herself, or is she hoping to turn over a new leaf and repent?
There’s only one way to find out. As Dong-eun doles out her bitter revenge, all that’s left is for her vicious tormentors to learn the meaning of penitence and atonement — or suffer the same way they once forced her to.
Directed by Ahn Gil-ho (Happiness) and written by Kim Eun-sook (The King: Eternal Monarch), the concluding half of The Glory awaits a March 10 release.

We don't have to wait for a third part, right? Because I can't. I like this drama, so I want to, but I just can't.
