Yoon Chan-young is a Delivery Man for Minah

The first teaser has dropped for ENA’s supernatural drama Delivery Man, bringing together leads Yoon Chan-young (All of Us Are Dead) and Minah (My Absolute Boyfriend) in a sweet-and-scary investigative story.

Our hero, Seo Young-min (Yoon Chan-young) was just an ordinary taxi driver when the amnesiac ghost of Kang Ji-hyun (Minah) stumbled into his cab one night. Adding to the mystery of her identity, an unknown force somehow glues her to his taxi’s proximity and thus begins our duo’s journey as they run a ghost taxi service together.

The new video teaser opens on that fateful night when Young-min picks up Ji-hyun as a customer. He’s a little unsettled by her odd behavior, but his fear escalates into terror when she suddenly flies backwards right into his front passenger seat. The intermittent text screens repeat Ji-hyun’s voiceover, proposing her business idea to Young-min: “What do you think about starting the world’s only, one-of-a-kind ghost taxi?”

In the ensuing montage, we watch as their business becomes popular among the ghosts and Young-min’s concern about fees is quickly overturned when they’re paid in lumps of gold and cash. As our duo happily celebrates, the captions cheekily explain that humans are refused service and ghosts are more than welcome. Switching the taxi sign to “booked,” Young-min courteously informs the next customer that they’ll do their best.

We then jump to our leads as the teaser comes to a close, and there’s a shared moment of pause when Young-min extends his hand to help Ji-hyun stand.

On the production side, PD Kang Sol and PD Park Dae-hee are co-directing with scripts penned by a team of writers — Joo Hyo-jin, Park Hye-young, and Han Bo-kyung. ENA’s Delivery Man is slated to premiere this March.

I shouted "Its All-Of-Us-Are-Dead guy!!" If you didn't watch the series you would not understand the depths of good will towards this actor from the viewers of that series.

Why do ghosts even need taxi services again? Can't they just teleport - or walk tirelessly - to their destination? Well, at least they are nice enough to pay for it handsomely...

Btw, I've seen some snippets of AOUAD (this show was EVERYWHERE at some point, holy cow) on sns and remember thinking that from the right angle this boy looks a lot like Ju Ji Hoon during his rookie days... So if the casting for that Goong reboot no one asked for isn't done yet, I have a suggestion for producers)))

@gikata One of your (many) amusing comments, based, I believe, on a ghostly econometric model, got me thinking about the nature of the spectral service economy, and how that is probably one of the more depressing views of the afterlife I've encountered.

Not that hell as punishment for mortal sins is a feel-good concept, but at least in this view, death represents some sort of transition. And even if ghosts continue to haunt mortal occupations, if you are a ghost doctor, a ghost lawyer, or a ghost teacher (I think all of these jobs have been covered in kdramas) you can look forward to a forever fate of rewarding work. But the idea that proletariat ghosts just resume a mundane work routine with a few alterations, their excess labor value continuing to be extracted by the ghostly bourgeoisie, makes Marx's view of industrial capitalism look like heaven on earth.

And what about the ghostly middle class, determined to make sure that their ghostly children succeed in a brutally competitive afterlife economy? Do ghost Moms make their ghost teens take their university qualifying exams over and over again?

In other words, forget zombies. I'm saying this show has the potential to be one of the scariest horror dramas of the year!

It's all tied to karma, I believe - people who were good and virtuous while still alive end up as ghost chaebols/celebrities/millionaires/whatever and really bad ones probably have to take exams, work at ten hellish (literally!) jobs and kimchi-fight with their in-laws for the eternity... or at least until their sins will be all paid for. Money thing mechanics are also explained in details if you look at local myths - the more people mourn the deceased (and make ritual sacrifices in their name), the more afterlife cash said ghost will have in their ectoplasmic wallet. There are even special money to burn for this very purpose! And since most clients of leads' taxi seem financially stable - at least enough to pay their bills AND make the titular driver VERY happy with tips - I'd say that our chances to get scared by the vivid depiction of ghost poverty here are pretty low... Maybe one or two free rides for some truly poor - in all senses - souls at most. We can handle this much, I'm sure.

Oh, and zombies are not THAT scary, imo. The scariest thing about them is the horrid lack of table manners...

I thought the ghost economy used CRYPTo currency?

It's still in works, you know. Too many older ghosts struggling with all those modern inventions and thus preferring good old paper cash they've known for centuries. No need to be tech savvy, no problems even if you lack some fingers or non-transparent face to unblock your Styxsung for payment...

It's weird to see Yoon Chan-Young in an adult role, he can drive!

I have a pluto sized soft spot for both these actors and I love supernatural shenanigans... ENA has mostly been hitting all the right spots for me lately so I've got my fingers crossed that it'll be a goody!

this looks like fun! I sure hope they maintain the storyline and it doesn't take a sudden downwards spiral
