  • As we say hello to the new year of bunnies, there’s a new crop of dramas waiting to be screened and the first up is KBS’s investigative comedy Brain Works. Premiering in just two days on January 2, the newest poster features the full main cast, led by Jung Yong-hwa (Sell Your Haunted House), Cha Tae-hyun (Police University), Kwak Sun-young (Behind Every Star), and Yeh Ji-won (Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol).   • Over on Netflix, a new poster has dropped for the action sci-fi Jung_E, this time showcasing the late Kang Soo-yeon (Jury) as well as Kim Hyun-joo (Trolley) and Ryu Kyung-soo (Glitch). The movie will be releasing on January 20 with filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho (Monstrous) as the talent behind both the camera and the scripts. [News1]
  • New stills have been released for tvN’s rom-com Crash Course in Romance and we get our first look at our heroine’s family, which includes bestie Lee Bong-ryun (Narco-Saints), brother Oh Eui-shik (Big Mouth), and daughter Roh Yoon-seo (Our Blues). Crashing into our screens on January 14, the rom-com is headed by Jeon Do-yeon (Human Disqualification) and Jung Kyung-ho (Hospital Playlist 2). [Sports Chosun]

  • It’ll be a busy week for tvN as Poong the Joseon Psychiatrist 2 will be releasing just days before on January 11, bringing back our Joseon medicine trio: Kim Min-jae (Dal-li and Gamjatang), Kim Hyang-gi (A Moment at Eighteen), and Kim Sang-kyung (Racket Boys). In the new trailer, we get another peek at the comedy sageuk’s second season, which takes our heroes out of their little village and into the big capital city. [Sports Donga]
  • On the MBC side, the latest teaser for Kokdu: Season of Deity reveals our grim reaper Kim Jung-hyun’s (Mr. Queen) return to the mortal realm where his fate becomes further twisted with Im Soo-hyang (Doctor Lawyer).   • The money war is in full swing in SBS’s third teaser for Payback, gathering the crime-action’s main fighters: Lee Seon-kyun (Dr. Brain), Moon Chae-won (Flower of Evil), Kang Yoo-seok (I Haven’t Done My Best Yet), Park Hoon (Big Mouth), and Kim Hong-pa (Shadow Detective).   • On the JTBC front, there’s war brewing in the office of Agency, where Lee Bo-young (Mine) and Jo Sung-ha (Adamas) continue their rivalry in new stills and a video teaser. I am still sweating out US availability of tvN’s CRASH COURSE IN ROMANCE.
For the longest time tvN’s POONG 2 was almost the only upcoming kdrama on Viki’s Coming Soon” list.
I never saw BRAIN WORKS listed so it must have appeared today.
tvN’s MISSING: THE OTHER SIDE 2 has so far not become available on a legal stream in the US.
