by missvictrix
Hot off the heels of our Jang Wook teaser, tvN’s Alchemy of Souls 2 has dropped their first teaser poster. It gives off every “if you know, you know” vibe there is, and it’s the perfect bait to get us hyped for the fate of our lovers in the drama’s final installment.

This drama has an inordinate amount of attractive people and now they’re flaunting their seductive hands too

@linarrick: I hope they are not using hand models a la George Costanza in Seinfeld!😂

I mean it's what hand models are for (same like body doubles), but I was honestly baffled when I found out that the hands we see in celebrity commercials are not theirs.

I was enthralled with the main couple until about Ep. or 7 when I realized that "Naksu" would never feel any remorse for killing another woman. And Jang Uk didn't care either. I'm in a minority - Hong Sisters know their audience and the "love conquers all" (plus how many innocent people????). Jung So Min absolutely slayed her portrayal of three separate characters, but I'm lukewarm about Part 2 without her.

Haha yeah... I was also in love with the show for the first half, but then it kinda died for me.

Yes! I thought I was the only one who noticed this, like Naksu stole someones body and Jang UK didn't seem to care!

Yea, what did you expect. The first scene we
the shadow assassin where nobody leave w/out their head being cut off.
She is not a saint, but if u don’t understand her story where she has long been conditioned to feel nothing about death then u haven’t pay attention. She even tried to commit suicidal when she know she was gonna be powerless in JBY’s body. Even up to ep17/18, she was gonna take her power and let everybody die (including UK). Life has been unfair to her & she has learn to care of herself first and foremost. People may feel turnoff of her, but it’s consistent w/ her character.

Lil, I "understand" Cho Yeong's story very well and I "understand" how she was conditioned to hate and I "understand" what happened in Ep. 17 (ice stone barrier). That's the story the Hong Sister wrote and I understand it - that doesn't mean I must like the character. And same for Jang Uk - he is selfish and conceited and until the very end, never gave a thought for the woman murdered by Naksu. That's the Hong Sister story, but It doesn't require me to like the characters.
Meanwhile, I have a tender heart for Cho Yeon/Dang-gu, Park Jin/Do-joo and Seo Yul. I am looking forward to how their stories play out in Part 2.

You described this poster perfectly @missvictrix.
While I am very excited to see the unfolding of the story, I am apprehensive about our couple because I enjoyed Jung So Min immensely.

It would be so fun that the hands belong to Jang Uk and Go Won 😂

I love everything about this. The dreamy light, the contrast in their sleeves, our favorite charms, the gentleness of the touch. *sigh* This poster is having the exact effect on me that the marketing team was hoping for.

The marketing team knows exactly how to grab my attention and hold it. I would watch an entire spinoff series starring LJW's hands.

Yes, but do we know which actor did not sign a contract for the final 5 episodes, so we can get ready for some more tinkling bells?

Kind of surprised by the romantic ambience of the first poster of the second season when the plot will be grimmer and bloodier. I love the presence of Naksu's egg charm and the interposing of the subtitle "Light and Darkness" and the white and black sleeves of Naksu and Wook's robes ☺️

Somebody on Twitter pointed out the similarity to a poster for The Red Sleeve. I hope that's the only similarity. 😬

I checked it out and yes the poster designs are very similar, still I think the intent is different. From my view, the poster for Alchemy of Souls Part Two describes a fateful reunion of lovers under an atmosphere of hope, while that of The Red Sleeve is a wistful and bittersweet tryst. But then I guess if the 2nd couple poster is similarly arranged like the one we'd come to associate for The Red Sleeve, then it's not pure coincidence.
