Shin Ye-eun hunts for her brother’s killer in Revenge of Others

The first promos have dropped for Disney+’s Revenge of Others (a.k.a. Third Person Revenge), including an action-packed video teaser and a cool new illustrated poster.

The mystery-thriller stars Shin Ye-eun (Yumi’s Cells 2) as a shooting athlete named Ok Chan-mi, who transfers to the high school her twin brother – played by Kang Yul (Best Mistake 3) – had attended in order to prove the truth behind his death. Although her brother had suspiciously fallen from a school window, his death was brushed under the rug as a suicide. Now, Chan-mi is determined to find the killer herself.

The newly released teaser opens with the death of Chan-mi’s brother and Chan-mi cries, wondering why her brother would commit suicide. She pleads with the police to find the culprit, but is simply told that there was no evidence of foul play. As she sees a vision of her twin in the hallway, we hear Chan-mi’s inner thoughts: “The reason that I’m transferring to a school in Seoul is to find my brother’s murderer.” Using a megaphone, she then loudly announces her intentions to the school.

Park Solomon’s (All of Us Are Dead) Ji Soo-hun reveals that he witnessed the fall and that he was one who called the police. But we cut away before hearing his response to Chan-mi’s question of who he thinks did it. Chan-mi then encounters both Lee Soo-min (Pumpkin Time) and Jung Soo-bin (Juvenile Justice), leading to Soo-hun’s reproach: “I warned you. You’re going to be facing even more serious and wrongful things than this.” But Chan-mi doesn’t back down, stating, “Until the culprit is caught, everyone is a suspect to me.”

As the music ramps up, we cut to a text screen that reads: “Choosing to follow revenge instead of dreams at nineteen.” In the action sequence that follows, we get a quick look at the story’s other players, including Seo Ji-hoon (Seasons of Blossoms), Chae Sang-woo (Money Flower), and Kim Joo-ryung (Poong the Joseon Psychiatrist). The teaser then closes on Chan-mi’s final vow to catch the culprit herself.

Directed by PD Kim Yoo-jin with scripts penned by Lee Hee-myung (Reunited Worlds), Disney+’s Revenge of Others premieres next month on November 9.

Loving the poster. Sounds like an interesting story but way too stressful for me to watch.

Agree! I do not want to watch any more bullying or teenage suicides.

The poster is extraordinary. I love the geometric arrangement of words and pictures of plot elements on graph paper. The drama itself doesn't sound terribly interesting though...

The premise sounds tangentially similar to Solomon's Perjury, which just made me realise that Seo Ji Hoon is still playing the second lead here, to the same female lead at that :| (Funny how that's not even the first time he's reunited with a co-star and played a second fiddle once again)

(His talent is being wasted in his current show, btw)

Shin Ye-Eun is not very good at choosing her dramas, Meow: The Secret Boy was really bad... I hope they chose better this time.

It was Kim Hyun-Soo the FL in Solomon's Perjury.

I thought that drama was a charming little fantasy. I've watched it twice. It was ruined by netizen 'activists' protesting interspecies romance, of all things, and dog lovers objecting to cats in general.

#justiceforseojihoon

(He's doing amazing in Seasons of Blossom, but agree he deserves so much more!)

Shin Ye-eun hasn't done a serious action role, unless you include 'He's Psychometric', but really in that she was just a potential love interest who coincidentally wears a police uniform. Lately she's become the actor to call to give your lower budget web drama some class. In 'More Than Friends' she helped to elevate a standard school-to-adult romance story.
