Minho and Chae Soo-bin live The Fabulous life of the fashion industry

While living and breathing the fashion industry feels like my own personal hell, it’s anything but in the new teaser for Netflix original The Fabulous.
Starring Minho (Yumi’s Cells) and Chae Soo-bin (Rookie Cops), the 8-episode drama follows both characters through the ups and downs of their demanding — yet sparkly — jobs in the industry.
Minho plays freelance photographer Ji Woo-min who looks the part and does good work, but lacks passion in his life (or so they say, because that didn’t come across in the teaser at all). Chae Soo-bin, on the other hand, plays Pyo Ji-eun, who works for a luxury brand’s promotional arm. Also a part of their “friend” group is real-life (and fictional) supermodel Park Hee-jung as well as Lee Sang-woon (Lovers of the Red Sky) playing the designer Joseph.
The teaser does little to tell us anything about the characters, though, and instead focuses on the flashy, sexy, and high-adrenaline life they all seem to lead — working backstage by day and partying by night. The teaser opens by setting the scene for us: beautiful people working and looking beautiful. Whether behind the camera or in front of it, everyone looks pitch perfect, and the snazzy music adds to the overall vibe.
After pulling off the fashion show from behind the scenes, we see our crew partying hard in a club — wherein our hero somehow loses his shirt (and not on accident). Well, that’s one way to get people to watch. Indeed, the only dialogue we get from the drama so far is about their chemistry-filled flirtation.
With such a one-sided look at the drama it’s hard to say if the story will do anything beyond showcase the glam — we’ll have to wait for another glimpse at the story to decide. However, the term “hyperreal” is thrown in to describe the drama’s tone, so just let that marinate for a bit.
Directed by Kim Jung-hyun (At a Distance, Spring is Green), the Netflix original will drop on November 4.

She's 28, he's 30. I suppose they could play it as a noona romance anyway, but it sounds like it has enough other over-the-top elements to be a potential flameout without that. 'Hyperreal' sounds ominous.
As for other NWABU similarities, I wouldn't mind if it was a good

As someone who used to work for a Fashion production company (producing fashion shows.) & who now works at a production studio, shows like this give me PTSD. But I'll still watch it because I'm a fan of the actors 😂😂😩😩

I'm here for you Minho no matter what goes on behind the scenes. I just hope you and Chae Soo-bin have a good time no matter what happens to the rest of this show. If anything, the clothes should be fabulous!
