A peek into the fourth dimension in Glitch’s first teaser
by missvictrix
Previous promo material for Netflix’s upcoming Glitch described the drama as a mystery-thriller, but sorry, this looks like sci-fi to me. Our leads are Jeon Yeo-bin (Vincenzo) and Nana (Genesis) — two women who were childhood friends and reconnect during the time our story takes place. Is it wrong to get super excited? This looks like just my flavor of weird story.
The teaser opens with Hong Ji-hyo (Jeon Yeo-been) narrating about believing in things that are unseen, and then questioning the things she sees around her, from synchronized computer glitches to a little alien in a helmet at her local convenience store that seems to be following her around.
She then narrates that there’s been a recent phenomena where people are disappearing while electronic devices malfunction, and here we catch a glimpse of Lee Dong-hwi (Broker), who plays Ji-hyo’s boyfriend, whose disappearance is at the crux of our plot.
The scene cuts and we meet our other heroine Heo Bora (Nana), a streamer whose content investigates all things paranormal. We see what looks like a partnership form between the two of them as they investigate the disappearance, and a montage of scenes shows us shocked faces, a crowd of cult followers, the requisite creepy man with a shotgun in the woods, and lots of running and screaming. The narration ends with Ji-hyo saying she wants to see it all with her own eyes. And after seeing this trailer, it sure seems like she will.
As we’ve all said before, dramaland really struggles with effective and satisfying sci-fi stories, but with the talent behind the camera, a great ~hip~ cast, and probably a ginormous budget, let’s hope this one is awesome.
Directed by Noh Deok (SF8: Manxin) and written by Jin Han-sae (Extracurricular), Netflix’s Glitch drops its 10 episodes on October 7.

Honestly, ... if I'm being honest, this trailer didn't really hook me. It only really increased the aforementioned nervousness and cynicism I have, rather than my excitement... Nana and Yeo Been look fun together though.
Oh gosh this is totally gonna burn me, isn't it. *buries head in pillow*

I read "..but sorry, this looks like sci-fi to me" from @missvictrix , and i'm out of this one haha..
was looking forward to see the 2 beautiful ladies, but not in the mood for a ntflx k-scifi.
oh well, this one down, I still have 2 shows to check for my after-today's webtoon kdrama: Blind and Gaus Electronics.
still, all the best for Yeo-been and NANA!

I'm feeling pretty excited too, but @missvictrix I thought you hated Netflix K-content? Or does your hope just spring eternal?
I'm just hoping that this will be a slightly different flavor than their more recent fare. This seems fun, and I'll definitely watch, but I wish that Netflix would figure out that releasing episodes week by week sometimes helps a show build traction over time, and can be a good thing. I know they've built their empire on binge-watching, but I think shows like Alchemy and Extraordinary Attorney and Business Proposal benefited from not dropping all at once.

When I saw the title of this show, I was hoping it was going to be a remake of the Australian series called Glitch. The story is about six seemingly random people who mysteriously rise from the dead, perfectly healthy, but with no memories. There are also French and American versions of the series—if there’s also a Korean one, I’d love to know about it!
