[Drama Chat] Who’s your favorite scene-stealer?

It happens a lot: you’re enjoying a drama’s leads and their story, but there’s that one tertiary character that just keeps stealing the scene. Every damn time.

Could be because they’re beautiful. Could be because they’re breathing life into an otherwise dull supporting role. Could be because they’re just that electric on screen and the camera loves them.

Who’s your favorite scene-stealer? Name the drama, role, and actor.

Let the chatting begin!

Thanks to our very own @mistyisles for the prompt.

My Unfamiliar Family, Lawyer Min-woo cameoed by Kwon Yul.

He was a bright ray of sunshine in the show as well as in Eun-joo's life.

Kang Ki-young in What's Wrong with Secretary Kim. Every time he'd call Park Seo-joon "owner-ya", I'd giggle. His comments and analogies were always on point and he helped humanise Young-joon's character.

One day the LMH hate would end, he isn't a bad actor if he can actually make you believe he is the character, he lacks variety doesn't make him a bad actor, maybe we should cut these people a slack

I don't firmly believe LMH as a bad actor, I did like him in City Hunter like 10 years ago.

I just think he is a bit lazy actor who lives in his comfort zone rather than taking challenges until certain criticisms have come.
While still young , handsomeness speaks volumes for actors.

I am kind of lazy person as an individual, that's why I am never a popular one in my career.
Everyone loves hardworking ones.

Unashamedly, unabashedly a fan of LMH. His looks and charisma are magnetic on screen whether he's in 'cold' mode or has a playful grin on his face. I do think though, that he's been kept in his lane too long by managers as well as his fans and needs to 'change it up' going forward. Have no idea how he did in Pachinko, but I didn't appreciate the book enough to watch it.

Don’t know if I’d call him my favorite, but most recently, Oh Dae-hwan as Royal bodyguard Kang Tae-ho in The Red Sleeve. He was just hilarious.

Choi Si-Won in "She was pretty". Baaaaaad case of SLS. Even though he wasn't a tertiary character at all, he was definitely a scene stealer.

Oh my god I have SO MANY to name! Here goes:

Lee Hee Jun. He is my most favorite scene stealer.

Oh Dae Hwan. Every time.

Lee El, before she deservedly got lead roles.

Park Jin Joo. Everybody's favorite scene stealer.

Tae In Ho. Again every time.

Kim Hae Suk. She still gets lead roles from time to time. But even when she isn't the lead she is the one shining.

Oh Ui Shik. When I first saw him I thought he caught my eye because of his resemblance to Lee Hee Jun. But it has been many years and he has been a scene stealer for me in every show. So it is safe to say it is not because of their resemblance.

Lee Elliya.

Lee Sung Min. He is incredible.

Song Sun Mi.
I can't leave her and Lee Sung Min's romance in Miss Korea out of this discussion. They were the best secondary couple ever! I loved them and I rewatch the show again and again for their scenes.

I might be back when I remember more favorites!

I'm back to add:

Kwak Dong Yun. He truly is a force to reckon with.

Kim Mi Kyung. Jin Joo's mama...

Yoo Se Ah. She has the art of dominating the scene down pat.

Wi Ha Joon. He is sooo cute.

Somebody mentioned Sohn Ho Joon. I wanted to argue that he has lead status and can't be considered here, then I realized he unfortunately isn't always the lead. So, I'm gonna add Sohn Ho Joon too. With a heavy heart though. He is one of my favorite actors.

Might be back again.

I am rewatching Nobody Knows and discovered I have made an unforgivable omission.

How could I forget Min Jin Woong!

So although this late comment might go unseen, I had to come back and add his name.

Park Jin-joo in Jealousy Incarnate as deadpan Nurse Oh Jin-joo, While You Were Sleeping as sassy assistant Moon Hyang-mi, It's Okay to Not Be Okay as quick-witted art director Yoo Seung-jae, and Our Beloved Summer as brutally honest best friend Lee Sol-yi. On top of that, she can sing.

Kim Jae Kyung as Veronica Park in The Secret Life of My Secretary. I just love her and KJK's portrayal of this chaebol heiress.

Kwak Dong Yeon as Jang Han Seo in Vincenzo. I love the poor abused rich boy and his issues.

Kwak Dong Yeon as Kwon Gi Do in IOTNBO. He literally stole every scene he was in.

Both of them need to lead a drama soon!

I also like Kim Jae Kyung as Kim Hanmi in Again My Life. Her character seems more interesting than the FL so far.

Plus..

Gong Seung Yeon as Dan Sol in Bulgasal. But only in episode 1 and flashbacks since her character mellowed out in the present day scenes. Her angsty scenes were done well.

Lee El, in Hwayugi, Goblin, and Liar Game - with special props to the first two, because that awesomeness is accentuated with colors - burning red lipstick and clothes in Goblin, and fifty shades of purple lipsticks in Hwayugi. I'd watch the scenes where she was doing her supporting in her supporting role with her purple lipstick, and somewhere towards the end of it I would notice: Oh, look, there were other people in this scene too...

Choi Min-soo as a villain in LAWLESS LAWYER. When Lee Joon-gi and Choi Min-soo were in a scene together LJG didn’t have a chance. What CMS did wasn’t ‘stealing’ it was ‘highway robbery”! He was great. You could tell he had a ball playing bad guy Ahn Oh-joo in LL.

and also to add Lee Sung Kyung as Baek In Ha also caught my eyes.. she was loud, braty, rough but did justice to her character and one of my fav female actors in kdrama world.
