Drama viewership ratings for the week of Jan. 31-Feb. 6, 2022

As foretold last week, it’s dead quiet in dramaland — first because of the Lunar New Year, and now because of the Olympics — and we’re faced with a whole heck of preemptions and extended breaks (nooo!). The good news is that our new dramas start to come in for a landing this upcoming weekend, and we’ll be back to a full schedule before the month is out.

Lunar New Year was on 1st February, which was on a tuesday and considering "The One and Only" is a Mon/Tues drama, it is a bit unfair to expect rating increase because other shows got preempted. If you notice the other Mon/Tues drama "Ghost Doctor", it has dropped from its highest ever rating of 8.0 from last week. It is the network's fault to air new episodes rather than a re-run or a special episode, but then us international viewers would be bored in such cases😅😅

Only one episode of YOUNG LADY AND GENTLEMAN this week and a lot of shows pre-empted completely by the Olympics and before that the Lunar New Year.
We have certainly been watching a lot of Olympics in our home, so I understand this. It is probably sound programing to simply park ongoing shows to one side and broadcast Olympic coverage instead- or whatever alternative programing they may have.
This only makes me look forward to upcoming shows all the more.
