Drama viewership ratings for the week of June 21-27, 2021

We had a pretty slow week in terms of ratings. The newer shows are struggling to stay afloat, with At a Distance, Spring Is Green around 2.0 percent, Monthly Magazine Home down to 1.7 percent, and Nevertheless to 1.3 percent. Even the latest addition to the chart, On the Verge of Insanity, got a mere 3.9 percent.

The more popular shows haven’t shown all that much change, but they’re still doing well. Hospital Playlist and Penthouse continued bringing in plenty of viewers, as did Voice. Chaebol drama Mine wrapped up over the weekend, after getting consistently high numbers over the course of its 16-episode run.

Always simply scroll down to see your report on Bossam. So happy the show is steadily climbing in stark contrast to the sinking numbers of other dramas. Let's cheer for a 10% and another dance video, eh?

It shows that saeguk is in demand. And the admins need to put aside their prejudices against this genre.

Haven't posted in the ratings thread for a bit.

I hope Bossam: Steal the Fate can hit the 10% mark before it is done, but it has been a successful anniversary project for MBN regardless.

I predicted low ratings for At a Distance, Spring is Green, Monthly Magazine Home and Nevertheless, but it is still sad given the hard work of cast and crew.

I wish tvN would lay off fantasy romances for a bit, but they have more in production.

It looks like Penthouse has lost a little steam.

I found Mine kind of boring, overall, but it's great that a drama with two female leads, one playing a lesbian, did so well.

Why did you think Nevertheless would have low ratings? The main leads are the current IT boy and IT girl.

I really liked the first two episodes of On the Verge of Insanity.
Hope it will do well...
I mean please do not end up with 1-2% ratings... 3-5 % is fine with me since Hospital Playlist 2 is in the same time slot, and I set the bar low for MBC dramas.

Jung Jae-young's previous MBC drama Partners for Justice seasons 1-2 did reasonably well, even with no romance and far less impressive scripts and casts. Then again, it wasn't up against Hospital Playlist. Sigh.

Hope at least it will do well on Wednesday.
I'm looking forward to watch Ep. 3 and 4!

By the way, surprise surprise, Ahn Nae-Sang is in The Devil Judge also. LOL

Ep3 got 3.6%, which is not too bad but not as good as I'd hoped. It's getting a very enthusiastic response from viewers, though.

I wonder how Ahn Nae-sang zips from location to location. On the Verge of Insanity is shot all the way down in Changwon. Is he shuttling between OTVOI, Racket Boys and The Devil Judge at the moment?!?

I know!
Is he moving back and forth between Seoul and Changwon?
Maybe OTVOI is already done shooting...
Recently most dramas try to shoot 50-60% at least before airing so probably he could juggle his time...

OTVOI deserves better. It may not have Kpop idols or young good-looking buzzworthy actors but plot/story and all the cast are fantastic so far.
Viki's ratings... 8.8? I mean I don't trust its ratings so much anyway (like, Doom at your service has 9.7... ) but I hate when people rate the shows so low because of the subtitles issues.
